Hi everyone...most of you probably don't know that I've been section hiking the AT for about 5 yrs now. I've made it from Springer Mtn to the entrance of Shenandoah NP. On the trail, everyone calls me "Stew". I've changed my TT name to Stew since MDSHiker is not a good handle. I started using MDSHiker a loooong time ago in the early 1990's when I first got online. (jeez, I'm getting old)

In a few weeks I'll be back on the AT knocking out another 130 miles. So, this seems to be a good time to switch TT names.

TT'ers Rock !

This is gonna be tough to get used to. I think I'll have to stew on it a bit.

Have fun in SNP.

130 miles from Rockfish Gap doesn't even get one to WV on the AT techntrek - my guess is Ashby Gap or possibly the Bear's Den Hostel

I always think of Shenandoah as being much shorter than it really is. (grin)

Does this mean I have to hike with you again to put you down on my list of TT'ers I have met? lol.... speaking of that, let's put together another Elk River trip pretty soon.

Ok, I pulled out my Thru-Hiker's Companion and yes, US 50 @ Ashby Gap is about 130 miles north and would allow for a pickup.

Pine Grove is another 113 miles north of that!

What's new stew?
I'll have to cross your name out on my photo files and update or get all confused. Beavs went backpacking with me last weekend and now she's "firebeaver" she would not quit playing with the firewood and flames! Lets go back to the Elk river again!
