Slide Shows in BoulderView MessagesViewing posts 1 to 7 of 7 messages posted.
“So, every week this really cool gear store in Boulder sponsors a slide show. Sometimes its some local guys showing their recent climbing or mountaineering pics. Tonight it was Steph Davis on her book tour for "High Infatuation". Steph is young, pretty, energetic, super friendly and probably one of the best, if not the best climber in the country right now. She freed Slathe on El Cap this past season as well as Freerider. She stuck around for as long as people were there signing posters, her book and just chatting with everyone that was there. Truly a pleasant person to meet. I'm really looking forward to reading the book - if your into climbing stories and stories of inspiration from within, I highly recommend that you check it out. btw, she said her main workout regimin involves trail running and yoga. She totally is against plastic shopping bags and swears that she climbs much better since she went vegan 5 years ago.” 12:44:12 AM 4/27/07 “sounds very cool gemini might like this” 12:51:30 AM 4/27/07 “its really neat - sometimes the topic doesn't necessarily grab me, but mostly they are super cool - and usually free! It's at Neptune Mountaineering. www.neptunemountaineering.com Steph laughed and admitted that she doesn't have web site yet, but its coming. I told her that if she has a book then she has to have a web site!” 1:02:08 AM 4/27/07 “What a flirt!” 4:18:35 PM 4/27/07 “Yeah, notice how he left out some of the details. It should really read "I touched her arm ever so gently and Steph laughed."” 4:23:28 PM 4/27/07 “Did she laugh or punch his lights out? Is there a link to buy this book? It sounds pretty cool. I finished Lynn Hill's book on the plane back to Philly. She's in her mid 40's now but I bet she could still show this young chicky a thing or 2. She's the first man or female to free the Nose on the Cap. Did she free climb or free solo those routes? I get the cold sweats just thinking about free solo.” 5:11:23 PM 4/27/07 “She free climbed - not free solo, jesus that would be incredible, kinda dumb but incredible. She worked at it for several days to get those routes done. The book is published by the mountaineers press and should be available at Amazon. But your won't be signed, neener neener boo boo.” 5:46:01 PM 4/27/07
