I believe I've said a couple times before that I tend not to put much effort into real debate here anymore. I don't have the time or energy anymore. Occasionally on another forum I'll get into it good, but that's about it. It's also a "been there done that" kind of thing. Ubiquitous in discussion forums, everyone trips over themeselves to come across as an expert and correct about everything. I've grown tired of that. So those factors explain the silly posturing.

Well said, Mutt. It partially encapsulates some of my personal feelings, too. I can relate. Have a good day. I have some busy stuff I must undertake now. Take care...

"However, people like violin and tilt who continually prove themselves to be against what America stands for...that's another story. And even though I'm not a hugely patriotic person I do love the freedoms here and I do appreciate the realities behind American success, so their efforts to bring America down does make me wish for their smackdown."
Mutt

You have taken what those guys say and twisted it around many times and present it as a "slam dunk proof" that they, and me for that matter, are anti-American.
Anyone who spreads falsehoods like that is a certified and anti-social liar.
I don't really think you are stupid, Mutt.
Your are calculating and rotten.

".......the yo-yo's that spend their time trying to twist something the opposition says, use it against them, and then say "case closed.

That would include Mutt.

goddamn, what the hell is the matter with you? one wouldve hoped that if any good couldve come out of your recent illness, its that it wouldve quenched some of the flames of anger in you. when you were down, marko realized what was important and was kind towards you. it would have been nice if this couuld have been the start of some kind of reconciliation. but noooooooooooooooooooooooooo you gotta come out swinging the minute youre well enough.....its obvious by his tone that marko just likes to fck with people, you on the other hand just have a vendetta

so at this point does anyone even remember what the topic was about? once again it turns into a p!ssing match.
of everything I read this is what bothered me the most

I was six and I remember I had a "little maggot infested protester" action figure we used to get outside and beat it all over the yard with our baseball bats.”

the fact that the peacful protest tuned bloody does not seem to bother anyone. instead it turns into a pointing of the finger. grown men hurting each other for what?

because someone wanted peace? thats it right? the nerve of them wanting peace. kill the little bastards in the name of god errr i mean in the name of peace!

well shot me for saying this but

PEACE OUT!

HGMMM...peaceful protest that obstructs streets, costs merchants...and their employee's money....yeah really cute.

You know mapes I would agree if that was the across the board line. But sadly it isn't. Watch the leftist response to "peaceful protest" or even to non liberals when they want the right of free speech. They are attacked, with eggs, trash etc. So its the old line..what's good for the goose is good for the gander.

And have you ever noticed that the peaceful protests always seem to go violent...not from the protester's responsiblity...but just so they can.
XL400236
1:34:19 PM
5/11/07

if i remember my history, the hard hats were not even involved. they came from down the street or someplace like that. that is why now a days they have to get a licence to protest so this way people can get ready and there are no surprices. everyone has the right to fight for what they think is right. you may not agree with it but that does not give anyone the right to hurt someone because they dont like what they are saying. we are taught as children that hurting other people is not the answer

but my question is, why is getting violent?
the ones that are doing the protesting against the same protesters? or the people that dissagree to what they are saying? they have there own right to protest. example...dems and rep protest.

Maple, don't bother. I was there. This guy was pissing his pants and beating dolls up. He has a very distorted view of what happened. If he had an open mind, that would be one thing. But, that's not the case.

No no...the other guys were soiling their skivvies...in one case Crash was smart enough to soil SOMEone else's skivvies...I was beating up the protester "action figure"...Now if you believe that...(LOL)

mapes, I worked the G-8 Summit meeting in South Georgia. I can tell you that many of the "protesters" are not really interested in change. Most of the Trouble makers are more or less anarchists they show UP to make trouble.

Years ago there was an event in Tybee Island Ga (Savannah) called Orange Crush weekend. It was a majority black event kinda a end of year blow out.

The year following the Rodney King stuff (remember they guy who tried to imitate a pinata?) the "organizer" took thousands of dollars in deposits and left.

The President of the Black Student Union at Savannah State called the Tybee mayor and explained the Organizer was spreading stuff that the WHITES were doing this. In response the students and the city worked together. At the event there were HUNDREDS of police and the students had these LARGE students in Referee shirts on the beach and on patrol. There were no riots becuase they properly policed themselves. Not that some of the scum tried, but the responsible students intervened.

mapes...all you have to do is study any of the big protest riots. You will find most of the twerps involved literally go from protest to protest.

if someone is at a protest rally just to make trouble, that does not invalidate the cause of those who are sincere about their beliefs. but they do themselves a dis-service by not policing their own

Yes, XL. There are anarchists at most of these events. Qyite often, they get themselves arrested. You choose to use that minority to represent anyone who voices an opinion against a government agenda. You use blanket statements to smear innocent people. I have taught my kids to love this country and to believe in it. I have also taught them that they should exercise their right to disagree and speak up! My kids have never been in trouble, assaulted anyone, etc. etc.

Unlike yours, from what you've said...

You want to generalize, go ahead.

I dunno about here in the USA.

WOW tree..I am so proud of you....perfect kids. Thats great, you should be thankful.

As for using the minority to bash the majority....my experience with 7 or 8 protests is that the majority of the people are anything but peaceful. They usually trash the area they are in (LOL the Earth Day events are excellent examples) and are filled with hypocrites.

But it looks like the World Bank will be coming to Georgia in a few years...we will see what happens then.
