““Friday I counted 23, Saturday I laid out on the dunes with my six year old and husband and counted 56 or 59, can't remember which number. I think I finally feel asleep around 2:30am. It was really cool taking a kid who was essentially scared to death of cowboy camping, laying down next to her and immediately hearing the wonder in her voice as she looked up at the milky way and the shooting stars. She lost her fear real quick. For once, Michigan cooperated and refused to let the clouds in until 3:30am (when we had to make a mad dash back to camp and throw up our tent as lightening flashed and thunder rumbled in the distance.
Sunday I was in bed at 7:30pm. Those kids wear me out.”

Sass, it sounds like you still saw a pretty fair amount, considering your location. You got lucky too with clear skies too.

I was too tired on Sunday, to even go out, after doing so much work around the house, I ended up going to bed earlier than normal on Sunday night. Bummer!

Yesterday before I left I drove down to the campground and went for a quick swim....there were real nice 2-3 ft waves....They were just a day late! lol”

“Perfect name Muddymuddy! We had lots of fun with you guys. All Birch and I do is invite, I'm grateful so many of you all could come and share the fun with us. Thanks for making the trip! It wouldn't be the same without all the great kids and parents.

Dayhiker, the water was perfect. It was HOT in the afternoons and the lake was just right.

Ruby, we're going to try for one kids trip per season. I think the RRG moms day trip will count for spring, maybe we'll find a cabin or lodge, or the NCT schoolhouse in Whitecloud to rent for winter, and someplace to hike for fall. We missed you guys too.”
