I like your lilyturf.

Are you wanting folks to tell you how to put all that in?

The liriopi fills in everywhere you plant it pretty quickly. Where did you find it? I've been looking everywhere for lilyturf and can only find it in catalogues thus far.

Homedepot. they were unloading trucks of new stuff. i told the guys they needed to wait till I left. I was like a little kid standing there looking at all the new things coming off the truck. they were so healthy!

im looking for ideas for a partly shaded area.

Liriope is very common at the big box stores down here. So is omphopogon (Sp?) a.k.a. mondograss.

Maple, do you want everything short there, or something taller? I'd find a nice trellis and have a non invasive vine of some sort to overhang the rock fountain a bit. You may even want to set the rock fountain up on something, like concrete blocks, to give it greater prominence and focus in that space, then have a lower evergreen planting to hide the blocks.

I wouldn't use ivy. Many ivies have a nasty habit of causing structural damage. You'd need to keep the trellis about a foot away from the wall, and stick with a dwarf variety of ivy if you went with that.

Hostas, ferns, dicentra, astilbies, toad lilies, rhododendron, brunnera---annuals johnny jump ups, Impatients

Painted ferns take forever to grow btw...they are netoriously slow.

Sass, I just helped a neighbor make a patio...NO THANKS!

Native plants are the way to go. Once they are established they require zero care because they evolved in the area that you plant them. In addition they attract native birds and wildlife. For more information on local availability of native plants check:
