Each time it says what God does about gays/sinners, he punishes thbem, according to Falwell. Thats the predominate belief of 99 pct of christians. Nothing about Falwells hatred of them.” 1:10:20 PM 5/16/07 “I know, Corey. If you read what I said, you'll see that your answer is getting redundant. Now for the last rambling by the right reverend XL....what the hell is this guy talking about and what does this have to do with anything?” 1:10:57 PM 5/16/07 “XL, posting some extraneous quotes from some b.s. "news" sources. Only your last quote even has any validity. Would we, as a nation and a world, be better off if the Rummies and Falwells of the world didn't exist? Absolutely and unequivocably, yes.” 1:11:17 PM 5/16/07 “Hows this: “[Homosexuals are] brute beasts...part of a vile and satanic system [that] will be utterly annihilated, and there will be a celebration in heaven." For more check out http://www.politicalcortex.com/story/2005/12/9/05718/3147 last edited: 5/16/07 1:16:28 PM” 1:13:27 PM 5/16/07 pedxing “are you saying that all christians who thinks god punishes sinners, hates them?” 1:13:57 PM 5/16/07 pedxing “i cant go on forever here but can you give the full or more of the quote instead of one sentence?” 1:16:38 PM 5/16/07 “No Corey. I noted the apparent contradiction in your statement "He didnt say they deserve AIDS. He said it was God's punishment” and wondered if that meant he felt God was unjust. It is my experience that most people who saw God punishes sin believes that the punishment is just. How else does what you say make sense? I do believe he was a hater.” 1:22:20 PM 5/16/07 “LOL...Tree and Rosey...EXCELLENT Liberal recovery..>Right out of the Handbook (LOL) Demean the source if you don't like the information. LOL...oh God (laughing) I could independently quote each source from each location...but you would still pull the "Deny Deny Deny until the evidence is overwhelming, then blame the individual providing the evidence" line The funny part is that as far as I know Rev Falwell never called for the murder of one person (like say REV AL SHARPTON???) or othe hateful response. Yet you see him as a greater threat than the wierdbeard Little Sheetheads in the Militant Muslim world who are continually calling for our death...and have actually DONE it.” 1:24:17 PM 5/16/07 “I assume you are aware of the famous Jerry Sloan case. Sloan said Fallwell called gay christians ""...BRUTE BEASTS, THAT IS, GOING TO THE BASER LUST OF THE FLESH TO LIVE IMMORALITY. AND SO, JUDE DESCRIBES THIS AS APOSTASY. THANK GOD, THIS VILE AND SATANIC SYSTEM WILL ONE DAY BE UTTERLY ANNIHILATED AND THERE WILL BE A CELEBRATION IN HEAVEN!" Falwell denied it and offered Sloan 5,000 if he could prove it, then backed out when Sloan did. Falwell lost in court when Sloan challenged him, then appealed on the grounds that the judge was jew. http://www.u-s-history.com/pages/h3873.html” 1:25:43 PM 5/16/07 “pedxing, if 99 pct of xtians believe sin deserves hell as just punishment does that mean 99 pct of christians hate all sinners, who they believe is everybody including themselves? there is the contradiction.” 1:26:38 PM 5/16/07 “So Corey. How do you make sense of your claim that Falwell didn't think homosexuals deserved AIDS? 'E's only sleepin. Lovely plumage!” 1:30:34 PM 5/16/07 “So Corey. How do you make sense of your claim that Falwell didn't think homosexuals deserved AIDS. I didnt make that claim.” 1:36:48 PM 5/16/07 I'm With you Geo “It's not pinin', it's passed on! This parrot is no more! It has ceased to be! It's expired and gone to meet its maker! This is a late parrot. It's a stiff! Bereft of life, it rests in peace! If you hadn't nailed it to the perch it would be pushing up the daisies! It's rung down the curtain and joined the choir invisible! This is an ex-parrot!” 1:38:49 PM 5/16/07 “OK Corey, so do you deny that saying it was God's punishment is tantamount to saying they deserved AIDs?” 1:42:55 PM 5/16/07 ““because the Bible suggests he will be jewish Daniel 11:37 This chapter speaks about four kings (verse 2); Cyrus, Ahasuerus, Darius and Cyrus' son Cambyses. Darius gathered everyone up to wage war against Greece. Alexander of Macedon makes a deal with Darius and kills him and the Persians become enslaved by Greece. The whole chapter is about the struggle between Persia and Greece, not about some type of anti-christ. We have to remember that the very idea and theology of a christ is wholly a Greek one and not a Jewish one. If there is no christ then there is no anti-christ. There is a great difference between the christian Satan and the Jewish one. Satan is a servant of G-d's and not subject to his own free will nor rebellion.” 1:45:04 PM 5/16/07 ““OK Corey, so do you deny that saying it was God's punishment is tantamount to saying they deserved AIDs?” I'll step up here. Someone who lives the gay lifestyle and contracts AIDS is akin to some who eats fast food for every meal and has a heart attack. Do they deserve it? Maybe, maybe not. Did their actions cause it? Definitely.” 1:47:32 PM 5/16/07 “Not at all, but were talking about his hatred. If he thinks all that god does is good including 'just punishmen', and he wants god to do what is good, then saying people gtting what they deserve for sin doesnt mean they hate them. A parent spanking their child means they hate their child? same thing on a grandeur scale.” 1:48:43 PM 5/16/07 “JEsus Nigal. That's about the worst analogy I've heard. What century are you from? You need to go back to sex ed 101. In case you haven't been watching the news lately, more hetros have AIDS than gays, by FAR.” 2:24:59 PM 5/16/07 “I don't see evidence of his hatred in that statement. I did find it odd that you found it important to say "He didnt say they deserve AIDS. He said it was God's punishment." I think his hatred for gays is evident in other things he has said and done.” 2:26:36 PM 5/16/07 “could be pedxing - i was just responding to mapleleaf - talk to her” 2:30:26 PM 5/16/07 “I think my statement was only odd if you dont consider the argument mapleleaf was making, then id agree with you.” 2:33:01 PM 5/16/07 “Nigal. I'd add things to what you said. 1) Another analogy might be someone who parks their 40K car in a neighborhood where there is a lot of auto theft. They are choosing to put themselves at risk. 2) Homosexual activity in itself isn't high risk, nor are most elements of the life style. Lesbians don't get much aids, gay men who practice safer sex and monogamy aren't at a huge risk. The guys who bring a can of Crisco to the gay baths and bang one guy after another (like this one "Typhoid Marty" guy I saw long ago in a Frontline documentary on the early spread of AIDs) were asking for trouble even before AIDs came on the scene. On the other hand there are gay couples who I have been in a monagaomous relationship since before AIDs came on the scene decades - I'd say they are pretty low risk.” 2:34:07 PM 5/16/07 offtopic “pedxing, I see you edited a post. How did you do that?” 2:35:35 PM 5/16/07 “haters” 2:46:19 PM 5/16/07 “player!” 2:48:20 PM 5/16/07 “"Jerry Falwell's dead," announces Amanda Marcotte, the left-wing hate blogress who briefly worked for the presidential campaign of the extravagantly coiffed John Edwards. "Guess god [sic] liked the ACLU better after all." Falwell, who died yesterday, was 73--not exactly hypergeriatric, but he beat the average life expectancy in Psalm 90:10: The days of our years are threescore years and ten; and if by reason of strength they be fourscore years, yet is their strength labour and sorrow; for it is soon cut off, and we fly away. It is a stretch, to say the least, to take Falwell's death as a sign of divine dislike, or preference for the ACLU, all of whose members will die eventually too. Falwell wasn't our cup of tea--in particular, we took offense at his suggestion that America was to blame for 9/11--though in fairness we should point out that Falwell was quick to apologize, unlike most of those on the left and Ron Paul who have made similar comments. But the hatred Falwell inspires on the left is quite something to behold. Here's a sampling (quoting verbatim except the redacted vulgarity): "tzs," on Marcotte's blog: "If Mr. Falwell had not used his life to spew hatred at anyone who did not fit his narrow-minded, bigoted idea of who was a True God-fearing American™, one might feel more willing to refrain from stating what an absolutely putrid little excrescence of vomit he was. But I'm being polite, so I won't say that. R.I.P., and after watching Falwell I know know why the Romans threw the Christians to the lions." "Blue_In_AK on DemocraticUnderground.com: "he was such an unctuous, smug, obnoxious blowhard that it's really difficult not to celebrate his death. I'm trying, but it's .... so .... HARD." "andyesmysoulwillrotinhell," on TMZ.com: "First class a--h---..now worm food...the world finally makes sense." "roewert," on WashingtonPost.com: "Good ridence. Jerry al Falwell was imbicile who thought that the whole world should think and believe just like him. Too bad there were so many gullible people in this country who fell for his nonsense and sent so much money to him. So does this mean that Pat bin Robertson moves up to the slot of chief idiot? The Christian taliban marches on...." More high-mindedly, Alan Wolfe begins a Salon.com dyslogy, "One never wants to speak ill of the dead, but in the case of Jerry Falwell, how can one not?" Curiously, one man who has kind things to say about Falwell is pornographer Larry Flynt. Access Hollywood quotes Flynt's statement on Falwell's death: The Reverend Jerry Falwell and I were arch enemies for fifteen years. We became involved in a lawsuit concerning First Amendment rights and Hustler magazine. Without question, this was my most important battle--the 1988 Hustler Magazine, Inc., v. Jerry Falwell case, where after millions of dollars and much deliberation, the Supreme Court unanimously ruled in my favor. My mother always told me that no matter how much you dislike a person, when you meet them face to face you will find characteristics about them that you like. Jerry Falwell was a perfect example of that. I hated everything he stood for, but after meeting him in person, years after the trial, Jerry Falwell and I became good friends. He would visit me in California and we would debate together on college campuses. I always appreciated his sincerity even though I knew what he was selling and he knew what I was selling. The most important result of our relationship was the landmark decision from the Supreme Court that made parody protected speech, and the fact that much of what we see on television and hear on the radio today is a direct result of my having won that now famous case which Falwell played such an important role in. The Hustler v. Falwell case involved a gross ad parody, which Chief Justice William Rehnquist described in his opinion for the court: Copying the form and layout of these Campari ads, Hustler's editors chose respondent [Falwell] as the featured celebrity and drafted an alleged "interview" with him in which he states that his "first time" was during a drunken incestuous rendezvous with his mother in an outhouse. Since the fake ad was clearly labeled as parody and was obviously untrue, a jury rejected Falwell's claims of libel and invasion of privacy. The court held that he could not collect damages for "intentional infliction of emotional distress," because the parody was protected by the First Amendment. This was the right decision, but Flynt is probably also correct in suggesting that it made possible "much of what we see on television and hear on the radio today"--which is to say, it contributed to the coarsening of our culture. That's one irony of Falwell's legacy. Another is that his foes portrayed him as a hater, in large part because of the hatred he inspired in them. http://www.opinionjournal.com/best/?id=110010082 last edited: 5/16/07 2:55:07 PM” 2:52:51 PM 5/16/07 “Tolerance, Diversity, Peace - only for people libbies agree with.” 3:15:27 PM 5/16/07 “LOL...thank you Stovie.” 3:19:56 PM 5/16/07 “Of course promiscuous sexual life style can replace homosexual lifestyle. I was merely keeping it in the same context Jerry was using it in. last edited: 5/16/07 3:23:18 PM” 3:22:32 PM 5/16/07 “The thing I thought was hilarious was the "if we don't spend everything we have on AIDS research it will be an epidemic by 2000" projection...seems to me the same EXPERTS who are predicting the end of the world were on that panel too.” 3:34:15 PM 5/16/07 “It is an epidemic. Something like one in three Africans in certain areas of Africa has it.” 4:22:23 PM 5/16/07 “that is so sad rosey :(” 4:24:37 PM 5/16/07 “Corey for 10 minutes after you make a post you can edit it - under your signature there will be a brown link that says (I forgot what it says - so I'll post this, see what it says and then edit it in) "edit this message" - click it and as long as your done in time your message will be edited and there will be a message stating when you did it. Do you guys know why the Rotary is listed as an "enemy" by the followers of the Arab child molester Mohammed? Apparently their programs have almost eliminated polio and they are putting in wells and water purification plants that make the little villages self sufficient This means they can start being educated...meaning they find that islam is not all that atractive. We thought it was a hoot when we first heard the ROTARY was an enemy of alqaeda....now it appears their work to improve lives runs counter to the Religion of Islam....(or the faith in the silly drunken child molester huckster named MO-hammed....(and his brothers Larhommed and Curlhommed.) LOL” 7:55:59 PM 5/16/07 ““that is so sad rosey :(” It's also inaccurate. They don't even test most people. They have a list of symptoms that are associated with AIDS. If they examine someone and they have X number of the symptoms they are automatically assumed to have AIDS. It is also not uncommon that when governments and people find out that the more people that are sick somewhere people will give them money. More sick people = more money. Now I'm not saying that AIDS isn't a problem there. I'm just saying it's probably not as bad as Bono and the rest are saying.” 8:46:26 PM 5/16/07 “Sure. The WHO and CDC are full of it.” 2:45:46 AM 5/17/07 “Yeah sure, Bono is just lookin' for attention.” 6:59:16 AM 5/17/07 “LOL..rosey...I know this is going to be tough to understand but you know the WHO and the CDC get their funding from "government" sources. The WHO gets it from money stolen from the American Taxpayer. LOL the WHO did a world wide study of Tobacco use in 1998....then they, for some strange reason, buried the report and wouldn't even let the London Telegraph get a copy.... HMM world health or World Newspeak? ANd then there is http://www.prnewswire.com/cgi-bin/stories.pl?ACCT=104&STORY=/www/story/11-30-2005/0004225287&EDATE= In recent years, the WHO's medical and financial policies, especially related to HIV/AIDS and the "Other Budget," have come under significant criticism from leading health and development experts. In September 2004, CAGW wrote to Congress about the WHO's "3 by 5" campaign, which willfully provided sub-standard, untested AIDS drugs through their 'Pre-Qualification Project" to many patients living in the developing world, especially Africa. Many of these drugs were later recalled from the market by the WHO because they were not bio-equivalent. last edited: 5/17/07 7:17:45 AM” 7:10:56 AM 5/17/07 8:46:17 AM 5/17/07 “"the quote comes from his (a common) belief that the ac will be of Jewish decent. Doesnt mean he hated jews. I didnt deny he used "jew" and "antichrist" in the same sentence. You just have to consider what he said and why. If you so - no hate. Thats all." That's phucking great word play, Cory, but it means very little. Let' me put it this way; hopefully by simplifying it, the point will finally be made clear to you. If Falwell told his flock that the anti-Christ was a person by the name of "Cory", all "Corys" then become suspect to the flock; even the dearest of Corys. Now, with suspicion a foot amongst the flock, the flock fears the Corys, and we all know that fear can breed hate. By Falwell leaving out the clarification that not all Corys should be suspect, he facilitates the hatred that follows. You see, it is in the omission, which lays the endorsement. If I mearly open the flood gates, and do not warn the town in which it floods, it does not make me absolvent of the the destruction it causes. Falwell conveyed to the flock that the anti-Christ was a Jew. All Jews then became suspect, which led to hate towards them. By calling the anti-Christ a Jew, he was damning all Jews, pure and simple.” 10:27:10 AM 5/17/07 “I disagree in the same manner that if an ambler alert said a white male was last seen with a child, that that damns all white males. Lets assume youre right and that is the net result of him saying that. The discussion was whether or not he hates jews. He was just repeating what his faith and millions of other people believe will be the 'nationality' of the ac. Does that indicate that all those people hate jews, including him, because their faith tells them that that is the prophesie? of cousrse not!” 10:49:21 AM 5/17/07 “also, where is the evidence that his 'flock' now hates jews?” 10:52:04 AM 5/17/07 “Jerry put the fun and the mental in fundamentalism.” 11:00:44 AM 5/17/07 “I don't think it's too outlandish for someone to assume this anti-christ would be a Jew. I mean the Judaeo/christian bible is primarily written by and about the Jews. Many of the worst villains in the bible were Jewish.” 12:15:33 PM 5/17/07 “Meanwhile back at the ranch Jerry Falwell was still dead.” 12:25:38 PM 5/17/07 “Like an earlier poster said, Falwell spread hate like a crop-duster spreads poison. "also, where is the evidence that his 'flock' now hates jews?" Jerry knew that was the kind of thing that many of his sheep like to hear. Even though he appologized for saying it, those for whose sake he said it still heard it. Its something like a lawyer who makes an outrageous statement to a jury which is then ordered stricken from the record. The statement is still effective. It can't be stricken from memory.” 12:30:01 PM 5/17/07 “"He was just repeating what his faith and millions of other people believe will be the 'nationality' of the ac. Does that indicate that all those people hate jews, including him, because their faith tells them that that is the prophesie?" This statement could also be applied to Hitler, and others who have demonized Jewish people as well. Repeating something, does not make it true. And a hardy thank you for showing that people like Falwell and Hilter should not be absolvent for their heinous actions. If one sez something, and others support that person by continuing to listen, then they agree with that person, and with they stand for and believe. So sayth one, so sayth all that patron the collection plate. As to the "just repeating", that is not true as well. He is interpreting what was written; therefore, interjecting his own bias on the subject and what was written. What Falwell stood for and represented, was an incorrect facade of what Christianity is really about. He saw an immoral America, who could only find their way back into the good graces of the "lord" by interjecting Christian beliefs into American politics. In order to accomplish this (and to keep the flock from straying), he used the old tried and true method of fear -- fear of the Jew, fear of the Gay, fear of anything that wasn't Christian and hetrosexual, in order to maximize his own personal gain. He was not a true man of faith; only a religious snake-oil salesman (one of many, I might add), who used the specter of fear for benefit. He had no respect for our secular Constitution.” 1:05:26 PM 5/17/07 Jump to Page << prev
