Anyone have any good online sources for hardware? We have rugs that we want to put on our steps. The only tacks I can find aren't long enough to hold after going through the rug, carpet, and carpet pad. I think the ones I have are 1/2 in. or shorter. I've looked at all the hardware stores around and nobody have anything longer. We're looking for some of those decretive tacks they use for upholstery.

Check with the local flooring store. They may be able to recommend or sell you something.

They do make staples long enough. It just takes a commercial grade staple gun to drive them. They will hold better because of the width of the staple. Ask at the carpet store or a tool rental place.

Where is the woodworking in this?

I have some nice Peruvian Walnut......

I don't make fiddles, but that's a pretty good picture of what Nogal(Peruvian Walnut) looks like.
