May/June Photo Assignment

“The next subject for a photo assigment was chosen by Paige, the participant who received the most thumbs up from our previous assignment.

She has assigned us the challenge of shooting a Landscape shot askew. (not shot with a straight horizon but tilted on purpose).

Submissions will be accepted until Monday, June 18th, at which time the gallery will be turned on for comments.
Don't post your entries in this thread, rather, send your submissions as email attachments to: thebackpacker.photos@frontiernet.net

Rules, as before are; Photo must have been taken after May 19th, 2007 (The date of this posting). If you can't resize it, I'll resize it for you, but they will be displayed at a maximum size of 600 pixels along the longest axis. Please don't send any files larger than 1 or 2 mb in size at the largest. Only one photo per person, please.
Send your photos along with your Trailtalk name, date photo was taken, a caption, and any other information you would like to include. I will post them in a new gallery on my web site, the same as before, with only the caption displayed until after the comment period is over with.”

“Askew is a great restaurant in San Francisco. Everything is served on a skewer. SF folks should head there for dinner and a skewed photo shoot.”

“Absent a response from Paige, let me just say this: Shoot your photos, interpret the assignment any way you choose, and submit them. As for myself, I will judge each one based upon how it fulfills the assignment in my own mind, technical and aesthetic qualities, and how it makes me feel. Anything else is picking at nits in my estimation.

“I was reminded of this assignment yesterday while out and about.

You just have to do it and try different things till it makes sense. On try No. 2, I think I got the idea. Will see if I send that... or try some more, now that I **think** I have the premise down.”

“Thanks, Fritz. Between trips to Desolation, I tend to forget how much I like it there. It's our closest wilderness, a 4-hour drive. The lucky Sacramento folks can go for day hikes.

What might I be doing wrong that prevents me from creating a link? I paste the web address, select it, then click on URL. It becomes a link maybe 1 outta 10 times.”

Could you replace this one for the first one I submitted. It seems that Karen and I posted almost the smae image. We were on the same trip togeter and caught the same shot. :O
I took this one this weekend at Glacier Lake in the Tahoe National Foret.
