Actually, I've enjoyed the quid-pro-quo in our RP arguments. In all honesty, I do agree with RP on quite a bit. If it wasn't for his weakness on foreign policy (not just cutting and running from Iraq, as you're trying to needle me with), he'd have my support. IMO - the time to teach the repubs a lesson was in the primaries. It didn't work. In the general, I will be voting against the Democratic candidate by holding my nose and voting for McCain. There's simply too much at stake to make an ideological statement like you're wanting to do.”

McCain is no different than Hillary or Osama on those issues.

It's not just an ideological statement against the Republican nomination. It's standing on principles. I cannot, willnot, vote for a President of this country who doesn't get those 2 things.

I gave Bush a pass 4 and 8 years ago knowing that he was lax on closing the borders (he said as much). But my reason for doing so is that I knew in 2000 we would be attacked soon and I wanted him in there to go after the perps. I even said to a relative of mine in October of 2000, "we will be attacked in the next year or so and I would hate to think if Al Gore was in there, he would do nothing about it."

America has awoken on the intelligence and defense front - out of a major wakeup after fallout from 8 years of Clinton eroding those things. Now it's time to seal the borders. If we fail to do that - we will be easily taken out by a multi-nation collaboration.
