It is nice to see someone on that stage who can make a coherent point. - Violin Did anybody else catch that?” 4:52:17 AM 8/07/07 “Little hypercritical? Got the polaritytous? Of course not, King Georges' men never fall victim to such liberal afflictions.” 6:29:31 AM 8/07/07 “No one is saying that we absolutely have to change our ways in the middle east. But by the same token, no one is defending why we do what we do in the middle east as well -- at least not with anything half-intelligently-meaningful. And this really is the 800-lb gorilla for the coming political season. You know, we just might be narcissistic enough (as a society -- press, readers, et al) to simply decide we don't want to deal with this and just totally run this guy out of town. Evidently, Rudy's already taken a pot shot at this. And it's a shame, because he's probably said some of the most intelligent things I've heard in a really long time. last edited: 8/07/07 2:35:42 PM” 2:34:43 PM 8/07/07 “When we becomes so full of our super power selves, we can walk over truth all day, but never lower ourselves enough to look down to appreciate it.” 7:11:40 AM 8/08/07 “we can walk over truth all day, but never lower ourselves enough to look down to appreciate it Let's do that now ... ”7:46:59 AM 8/08/07 “The Black Helicopters are up and away.” 7:53:19 AM 8/08/07 “Gona base the whole future on one event or are we waiting for someone to put mud in our eyes so we can see?” 8:28:01 AM 8/08/07 “uncliff, Do you believe that we've only been attacked once by Osama's network?” 8:31:54 AM 8/08/07 “I do know we have made deals with terrorist before, but have far more concern about page 103( I think 103)of the PNAC and the 'Pearl Harbor type event', that would eventually lead to world domination. Do you really think 3+% of earths' human population that that spends more on military that the other 96+% is being spent to protect americans from a hand full of mountain rag heads? Forget what I've said. I capitulate, Paul is not a prophet, he's in it for the profit, like the rest.” 9:17:59 AM 8/08/07 “So, when you asked "gona base the whole future on one event ..." did you really mean to ask "gona base the whole future on multiple events ..."? Also, please correct me, but it seems like you disassociate terrorist activity with other, enemy, sovereign countries. Is that true? If so, I think you should reconsider. Just take Iran for example. IF Iran is fronting the terrorist networks in Iraq, do you think we should not consider that? Is Iran a threat? I think so, in a multitude of ways. I also believe you can draw a direct connection between Iran and say, Syria, or even Russia. Their war is being fought in battles. Have you ever read The Art of War? I recommend it to you.” 10:06:05 AM 8/08/07 “I don't think a new (major)attack is needed. That picture can be posted and all the overly concerned can run out side and fire their guns in the air. OBL's aware of americans' long grudge retention. Terrorism, by it's very nature can necessitate far more intrusive defences both locally and abroad. Let's face the facts. We , by any standard , are a big bully, who, like all bullies hand out candy with one hand and sell switch blades with the other. What, for the sake of sanity ,is to dislike about that?” 10:32:30 AM 8/08/07 “So your solution to fighting the terrorists is what?” 10:51:07 AM 8/08/07 “The Umpire Strikes Back.” 10:57:03 AM 8/08/07 “Roid Bonds, is that you? First, the wrong way is to piss all of their friends off. Second, is to obey the fist. third ,if you have time , find a space big enough for your ego and back up far enough to get a big picture of yourself.” 11:36:46 AM 8/08/07 “Or, Fourth, when you learn 1-3 probably won't work. Find someone that really knows his business and hire him to tell you why the terrorist hate you , and you them. Listen to him , then ,don't call him a silly libby and ask him what to do.” 11:48:37 AM 8/08/07 “uncliff, You've given some great tips of what not to do - but what should be do? If I understand your plan, you believe if we do nothing, we won't be attacked. Do you really believe that? If not, what's your actual plan? last edited: 8/08/07 12:03:20 PM” 11:58:50 AM 8/08/07 “I believe that Osama's network (as it's ever so eloquently put) and everything it does is a function of something much much bigger. And unless we address that, hell we can capture his ass, hang him, and leave his effigy out for everyone to see -- and at the end of the day it really won't matter, because the larger powers that be will just replace him with somebody else. We need to address the reasons causing the tide of Islamic fascism, and not simply try to suppress its effects by brute force. I'm not necessarily opposed to using force or war -- but only if it effectively eliminates the offending situation. Which it is not. I mean you've got way too big of a group of people in this country who don't see any kind of direct short-term benefit to us here at home from fighting the war in Iraq. You've got an administration with a shady reputation at best, struggling to operate more and more in total secrecy -- probably because they themselves are unable to justify their actions. And finally, you have half the country questioning the legitimacy of the president's command. I'm no military expert here, but tell me, how the hell do you expect to win a war like that? Maybe we're not "almighty America"; maybe we are just human like everyone else. The thing that got us to our superpower status in the 20th century is the fact that we were smarter than everyone else -- especially Europe, and just had better overall execution. A lot of that luster has since been lost. We're not doomed. I still think we're the greatest country in the world. I still think the rest of the world wants to look at us with awe, even though they may currently be a bit ashamed to admit it. We need to take a step back, and rethink our strategy here. Maybe we need to drastically change things; maybe we just need a few nips and tucks here and there. But it's pretty evident our present strategy is not effective enough, and unless its properly evaluated -- on an open table where everyone can see and analyze -- nothing is going to get any better for most of us.” 12:02:29 PM 8/08/07 “PhantomSoul - I think you'll see soon our strategy is effective (not to mention that we've had no major terrorist attacks since 9/11, despite NUMEROUS attempts - can't get much more effective than that). Your underlying point is very much true, and is what I've been saying all along - that we should be doing much more than just brute force - but the thing is - that IS what we're doing. What they aren't putting on the evening news is that we ARE greatly expanding our intelligence into the middle east (and moreso), and we are also working to take down those who are out to get us - none of this by brute force. The brute force is a distraction for the terrorists - and is also a means to an ends to get some infrastructure (including establish a government) in Iraq - which contrary to popular belief, is working. Becoming more popular with the world is not going to help any of this from the vantage of reducing attacks on us - it will make it worse. Life isn't a popularity contest. I think in America we overemphasize popularity, it's a big problem starting in our public school system.” 12:09:28 PM 8/08/07 “We have to stop placing the blame on everyone else and start talking about the things that cause them to hate and want to hurt us. My gibberish about living like we're on a fresh stolen piece of indian land is serious because it defines us well. The bridges are falling , pipes poppin', mines collapsing, auto cos failing and have children that will also support the other side of the drug war. Militarily, stop the police work and get the rest of the world to help us STOP the bad guys. Yes, we'll have to be closer to the french.” 12:41:06 PM 8/08/07 “Ok, so let's assume your plan is viable - we stop attacking them, and get everybody on our side to stop the bad guys. Now, what are they going to do? Are they going to also not do anything? Are they going to be better able to talk sense into the terrorists? Aren't they going to have to attack as well? What plan do you have for them?” 12:46:23 PM 8/08/07 “I'll wait for the lies of September before giving this mess any more of my time. I'm close to the point of saying things that could get me in lots of trouble --don't need that.” 1:45:03 PM 8/08/07 “Not sure what the first sentence is a reference to, but anyways, if you ever decide to provide a solution instead of just complain about how things are being done, I'd be interested to hear it uncliff. Thanks.” 1:58:17 PM 8/08/07 “Iraq report. Okay, It is a religious problem and the leaders of these gangs need to be forced together and receive the responsibilty of solving it. That leaves it up to all of us to start being honest about this crap and stop placing these monsters on thrones out of reach of the common law.” 2:38:42 PM 8/08/07 “Oh boy. You're interesting uncliff.” 3:31:56 PM 8/08/07 “i like ron paul. he's makes a very attractive woman, for a black man” 7:10:43 PM 8/08/07 “He's still better than the rest of those glue sniffing cabbage patch candidates” 8:39:01 PM 8/08/07 “Uncliff should change his name to Uncliff Claven. Don't have to clean the monitor screen as often, but the usual TT smut's still a problem.” 8:26:30 PM 8/09/07 “I think it is only a matter of time before the mainstream press starts to air more of Ron Paul. His support cannot be ignored. There are lots of Republicans like me out there who are desperate for a true conservative. We have him, Ron Paul. PAUL 08.” 8:18:08 AM 8/11/07 “Fox host accuses Paul of taking 'marching orders from al Qaeda Nick Juliano Published: Thursday September 6, 2007 Republican presidential candidate Ron Paul's anti-war arguments during Wednesday night's Republican debate prompted consternation from his fellow candidates and prompted one Fox News moderator to imply the Texas congressman would take "marching orders from al Qaeda." Paul is the only Republican calling for an immediate end to the US occupation of Iraq, and he said he would remove all US troops from the Middle East, saying their presence in Saudi Arabia was partially responsible for the 9/11 attacks. Paul said the Iraq was was making the US "less safe, and he called for a "new foreign policy that says we should mind our own business, bring our troops home, defend our security," prompting Wallace's question. "So, Congressman Paul ... you’re basically saying that we should take our marching orders from al Qaeda?" Fox host Chris Wallace asked. "If they want us off the Arabian Peninsula, we should leave?" "No!" Paul replied sharply, pointing his pen at Wallace, and continuing to wave it throughout his response. "I'm saying we should take our marching orders from our constitution. We should not go to war without a declaration. ... This is an aggressive invasion. We've committed the invasion of this war, and it's illegal under international law. That's where I take my marching orders, not from any enemy." In his Wikipedia entry, it actually says Chris Wallace is a journalist.” 3:51:41 PM 9/06/07 “I noticed that bonehead "question" too. last edited: 9/06/07 4:00:49 PM” 4:00:17 PM 9/06/07 journalist???.
