They go into these conniptions that would be amusing if the stakes weren't so high. Then the trolls around here flip out ---- That's pretty funny.” 8:21:56 AM 9/07/07 “yep, the wingnuts attack and defame Ron Paul because he doesn't toe the party line. fact is, he is the closest to a traditional republican in the whole race, but they can't see it because they've bought into the corrupted Shrub version of conservatism.” 8:30:56 AM 9/07/07 “libbies are so silly.” 8:47:02 AM 9/07/07 “libbies are for kids!” 8:47:59 AM 9/07/07 “It's a circus, to be sure.” 8:53:18 AM 9/07/07 “Michael Scheuer, a Bin Laden expert, says all presidental candidates and Bush are marching to Osamas' drum except Paul and Kucinich. The old beat the chest and use 9/11 as excuse to bang heads that have nothing to do with american life is falling way out of favor.” 6:43:23 PM 9/07/07 “Ron Paul could be a good choice if he was running independent.” 2:08:02 AM 9/08/07 “Anyone would have expected us to invade Afghanistan after 9-11, but invading Iraq was a tremendous boon to al-Qaeda.” 4:40:01 AM 9/08/07 “The Libertarian party is as good as dead. Too many concessions to special interest, sound familar?” 7:37:27 AM 9/08/07 “Ron Paul's views on Iraq are almost the only thing keeping me from jumping on his campaign. Well that and he has almost no chance of being elected president. I despise politicians of both parties because the only difference between them is the team colors they wear. We need to get back to the original constitution and not what has been perverted by the supreme court and congress, we need to abolish federal income tax, most federal programs and return power back to the states. I think I will run with Paul mostly because of the statement it will make about how I view both parties. I will just have to take a lot of showers to wash off the scum from some of his other followers.” 8:55:01 AM 11/07/07 “He's the Repubs' Kucinich, but without the pole striper wife. ;-)” 9:01:04 AM 11/07/07 “Iraq is constitutional? wake up!! Paul08” 9:01:55 AM 11/07/07 “The interesting question is who would he pull more votes from if he ran in the general election as a third party candidate. I heard a pundit say last night he'd even pull young voters from Obama.” 9:29:41 AM 11/07/07 “Thats the thing that has taken me so long to jump on the bandwagon. Most of the time I ever heard someone talk up RP it was peacenik types who never saw a republican they wouldn't mind running over in their electric car. But most of his positions are counter to what most leftist want. His worst nightmare would be to get elected and then have to fill a cabinet. I bet those would be some interesting cabinet meetings.” 9:46:36 AM 11/07/07 “Ooooohh peaceniks in electric cars. What a dip#&%!$ ----” 9:53:49 AM 11/07/07 “I thought Paul was a fundamentalist kook?” 10:01:32 AM 11/07/07 “well, those are only the ones with money. The rest drive oil dripping, gas guzzling clunkers held together with bumper stickers and misspell words on their protest signs.” 10:01:50 AM 11/07/07 “Dang, Hyway is a bitter mofo!” 10:03:05 AM 11/07/07 “Remember, libertarians speak of less federal government and Leave states and locals to do what their people want. A huge federal government as ours is unmanageable and one size usually fits very few.” 10:11:16 AM 11/07/07 “sorry rosey, I was trying to communicate on a level that MarkO would understand. If I am bitter its because the two parties are forcing me to consort with delusional folks.” 10:16:07 AM 11/07/07 “ 10:20:07 AM 11/07/07 “Pauls three biggest contributers are Google, US Army and third US Navy. Tell you something? He's not just Dr. No, but also Dr. Know. last edited: 11/07/07 10:30:17 AM” 10:26:58 AM 11/07/07 “Your Tax Dollars At Work? Or did you mean to say members of the Army, Navy, ... (actual contributions from the Pentagon would be seriously illegal, LMAO) last edited: 11/07/07 10:31:54 AM” 10:28:42 AM 11/07/07 “It's individuals, but it's listed on the site as I did, shoulda thunked, ah?” 10:33:12 AM 11/07/07 “he also gets huge donations from the 9/11 truthers who think the US Government was behind the 9/11 attacks. His support is all over the place. I bet their will be fist fights at his nauguration between his supporters :)” 10:38:37 AM 11/07/07 ““sorry rosey, I was trying to communicate on a level that MarkO would understand. If I am bitter its because the two parties are forcing me to consort with delusional folks.” hyway 11:16:07 AM 11/07/07 Say what? I don't talk up Ron Paul nor do I drive and electric car nor harbor any desire to run over rebulicans with any kind of car. I drive New Balance Trail Walkers to work. Piece............out. Smoke tires if ya gottem.” 10:42:13 AM 11/07/07 “Heck, Hyway, I would vote for Paul, if he was the one running against the Hillabeast.” 10:48:41 AM 11/07/07 “Ron Paul would never be that lucky.” 10:56:11 AM 11/07/07 Ron Paul Second Admendment “If you love the second Amendment then vote for Ron Paul. Here are comments from Larry Pratt of Gun Owners of America. Ron Paul by Larry Pratt Executive Director Ron Paul has represented areas near Houston, Texas for nearly 20 years in the U.S. House of Representatives. He has the reputation of the paramount defender of the Constitution and seeks to follow it in casting every one of his votes.” 11:09:10 AM 11/07/07 Ron PAul on the IRS “Ron Paul on the IRS and income taxes. I have long been an advocate of ending the income tax and eliminating the IRS. People tell me that this is a laudable goal, but they don't see how it would be possible. The question that I am often asked is, "How would the government pay for the services they provide, or pay their employees, if there were no income tax?" Between 1787 and 1913, we had no permanent income tax system, and America prospered! The Sixteenth Amendment was ratified to prevent the Supreme Court from ruling the income tax unconstitutional, as it had done in 1895. The income tax isn't necessary to pay for government services. Few people know that every penny of the income tax is used to service federal debt, a large percentage of which is held by foreign investors and governments. Our government is borrowing nearly three billion dollars a day in order to perpetuate the welfare state and an international war-making empire. The fruits of your labor are going directly to Saudi millionaires and Chinese communist officials. If we stop incurring this debt, we can quickly end the IRS. Only about 42 percent of government revenue is collected through the personal income tax. During the course of the Bush presidency, government spending has increased by about 75 percent. Cutting spending to the same level it was at seven years ago would make it possible to render the personal income tax unnecessary. If we further reduced spending to the 1992 level, we could quickly pay off our foreign debt, return our nation to solvency, and make April 15th a normal day. Would you be comfortable with the government providing the services they did just fifteen years ago if it meant never paying income taxes again?” 11:15:13 AM 11/07/07 Ron Paul on Immigration “More and more of my constituents are asking me when Congress will address the problem of illegal immigration. The public correctly perceives that neither political party has the courage to do what is necessary to prevent further erosion of both our border security and our national identity. As a result, immigration may be the sleeper issue that decides the 2008 presidential election. The problem of illegal immigration will not be solved easily, but we can start by recognizing that the overwhelming majority of Americans – including immigrants – want immigration reduced, not expanded. Amnesty for illegal immigrants is not the answer. Millions of people who broke the law by entering, staying, and working in our country illegally should not be rewarded with a visa. Why should lawbreakers obtain a free pass, while those seeking to immigrate legally face years of paperwork and long waits for a visa? We must end welfare state subsidies for illegal immigrants. Some illegal immigrants – certainly not all – receive housing subsidies, food stamps, free medical care, and other forms of welfare. This alienates taxpayers and breeds suspicion of immigrants, even though the majority of them work very hard. Without a welfare state, we would know that everyone coming to America wanted to work hard and support himself.” 11:17:03 AM 11/07/07 “I am on the bandwagon. The dude is way off base on some issues but he is consistent. I don't like his stance on imminent domain, but the reality is that if he were president then the eventual outcome would be that we would still have imminent domain, but it will only be used for government projects and not private industry. Which is all I want” 11:17:34 AM 11/07/07 Ron Paul on the Iraq war “Here are Ron Paul's words from October 10th 2002. I oppose the resolution authorizing military force against Iraq. The wisdom of the war is one issue, but the process and the philosophy behind our foreign policy are important issues as well. But I have come to the conclusion that I see no threat to our national security. There is no convincing evidence that Iraq is capable of threatening the security of this country, and, therefore, very little reason, if any, to pursue a war. But I am very interested also in the process that we are pursuing. This is not a resolution to declare war. We know that. This is a resolution that does something much different. This resolution transfers the responsibility, the authority, and the power of the Congress to the President so he can declare war when and if he wants to. He has not even indicated that he wants to go to war or has to go to war; but he will make the full decision, not the Congress, not the people through the Congress of this country in that manner. http://www.antiwar.com/paul/paul51.html” 11:20:46 AM 11/07/07 “bateaux, this is what I was reading this morning when I decided to be a bandwagoneer ... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Political_positions_of_Ron_Paul Is that a fair synopsis of his positions?” 11:22:21 AM 11/07/07 “Here are Ron Paul's words from October 10th 2002. There is no convincing evidence that Iraq is capable of threatening the security of this country, and, therefore, very little reason, if any, to pursue a war. It's that statement that makes this guy look like the Ross Perot of this election.” 11:27:25 AM 11/07/07 “I think Wiki did a pretty good job representing Dr. Paul. The most important thing about Congressman Paul is that he has been true to the Constitution in every speech and every vote. We have the unique opportunity to elect an honest man to the highest office. He does not have party baggage to carry around even though he is a Republican. He doesn't owe anything so he is free to make the right decisions.” 11:36:33 AM 11/07/07 “Hey Sarge Ron Paul fully supported going to war with those that attacked us on 9-11. He however saw right through the lies of Bush that led up to the Iraq war. If more would have listened to him thousands would still be alive. last edited: 11/07/07 11:39:32 AM” 11:39:19 AM 11/07/07 “Sarge, don't call Dr. Paul, but go see a doctor.” 11:59:50 AM 11/07/07 “He however saw right through the lies of Bush that led up to the Iraq war. If more would have listened to him thousands would still be alive. For about a year I tried to get somebody, anybody, on here to list one of those supposed lies. Still waiting ...” 12:13:42 PM 11/07/07 “He however saw right through the lies of Bush that led up to the Iraq war. If more would have listened to him thousands would still be alive. last edited: 11/07/07 1:39:32 PM” bateauxdriver 1:39:19 PM 11/07/07 I hear this an awful lot. So, if there were "lies" how did so many in Congress fall for them? Is Congress gullible? Why won't they now impeach him? Seems like it should be an easy thing to do.” 12:15:36 PM 11/07/07 “You can't hear what you don't want to know.” 12:16:30 PM 11/07/07 “but you can impeach on what is a lie. Hasn't happened. As a matter of fact the Dems just tabled and effectively killed an attempt to impeach over the "lies". So even the Dems no you are wrong.” 12:22:49 PM 11/07/07 “With so many of the Dems voting to go to war they would look silly going after impeachment. No WMD's ever found. What a shame.” 12:26:25 PM 11/07/07 “I don't care about the WMD's. I never did. It wasn't why I thought we should go in. It just happened to be the buzz word that the dems could sell themselves so they could vote the way the American people wanted them too. I thought it was a mistake to use WMD's as the reason to go in then too.” 12:29:22 PM 11/07/07 “You can't hear what you don't want to know.” uncliff 2:16:30 PM 11/07/07 I want to know.” 12:31:21 PM 11/07/07 ““With so many of the Dems voting to go to war they would look silly going after impeachment. No WMD's ever found. What a shame.” bateauxdriver Interesting theory. Still no word about a lie though? I thought it was a mistake to use WMD's as the reason to go in then too. - hyway Like I said to people BEFORE the liberation, wmd was not the reason for going in. There were several given, but the press was what made an issue out of that, not Bush. I said this before the invasion, so don't accuse me of backtracking. The MAIN reasons for going into Iraq by Bush were because (1) Saddam was torturning and killing his people, (2) he was violating U.N. agreement after U.N. agreement, (3) he was harboring international terrorists. WMD was a minor issue until the press made it THE issue. I said it then, and I stick by it. The press misled you, not Bush. last edited: 11/07/07 12:45:43 PM” 12:44:11 PM 11/07/07 “There's lots of Ron Paul signs popping up around here. No dem signs though.” 12:57:12 PM 11/07/07 “Dems keep being mentioned as usual even when Paul is as far from democrat as any other candidate in the race. Most neo-cons just automatically insinuate that anti-war = democrat, but can't live with the fact that someone who is right of them, may not agree with their war mongering tactics.” 7:29:46 PM 11/07/07 “or it could be that many people who would disagree with the rest of his policies like to trot him out because of his anti-war stance. Whats makes it hard to get behind him is that I like his policies as they relate to the federal government but if he was a state legislator he would be all over the place with inconsistencies.” 7:47:41 PM 11/07/07 “Given the chance, I'm voting for Ron Paul... unfortunately I'm afraid the Republicans aren't going to give him a shot. If Hillary wins the damn thing, the right will have no one to blame but themselves.” 8:12:53 PM 11/07/07 Jump to Page << prev
