Delaware Water Gap

“Hello,

I'm headed to Ricket's Glen in PA this Memorial day weekend and was thinking of heading over to the Delaware Water Gap for a day. I have a homemade wooden canoe that I don't want to scratch up. Can anyone recommend a scenic part of the river that hopefully won't be too shallow? I heard people have made a canoe camping trip out of this place, so if anyone has done that, tell me about that too.

“i suggest heading futher north to the upper river. it is deeper or you can hold off and join us for the trip June 1-3

“South of Milford to the gap is a good stretch, fewer riffles, deeper water, some nice backcountry campsites on islands.”

May want to avoid that in your scratchless canoe.”
