Wind river range in June?
Hi Folks
First time poster here, and am looking for some advice. I am going to be in dubois Wy in the second week of June for several days and want to take my teenagers into the backcountry for three to four days. Been thinking maybe bomber lake trail. Is Titcomb basin out of the question b/s of snow?

I would expect snow to still be around in mid-June, have no idea how deep it would still be though. It'll certainly be muddy and chilly up there.

Check with the forest rangers district office.

I've only been on Bomber lake trail up to where it splits with the new Glacier trail - I would give it a try in mid June, but expect snow and runoff.

Titcomb basin is 35 miles of difficult(and off the chart stunning)backpacking and a high pass away from the nearest trailhead to Dubois(Torry Creek). Much easier to get to Titcomb basin from the West side. You would need mountaineering gear in June.

This site has good conditions info also

I'm headed up on the west side this weekend and next - so check back next week for an eye witness report

Did a short trip into the West side of the Winds this weekend. Hiked up to Big Sandy Lake and set up camp, the tried to hike into the Cirque Of The Towers to get some vertical snow practice. The trail up to the lake (elev 9700') was fairly clear of snow, with just a few drifts to deal with. Shorts and gaiters was no problem. Above the lake the snow started getting deep on the trail, and our progress slowed considerably. We eventuall turned back about half way up the trail to Jackass Pass due to time and weather. Great little trip - we'll try again next week.
