We Brought the Baby Home Today!

“Of course it was inevitable: 9 months after moving to Upper Michigan, Tarabull and I brought home our first little bundle of joy. She’s simply adorable: beautiful as her mom (but not as gassy) and as rugged and tough as her father. At her young age she already has more hair than I do! Her first night home she slept most of the way through without crying or needing to be fed. She weighs in at a whopping 27 pounds!

“Does she have a name yet?”

“Believe it or not she is a purebred Rottweiler (13 weeks old) that we rescued from the shelter because the breeder said it "relates to other dogs better than it does to people." So far she's been like every puppy I've ever had so I think he's wacky.

We're still searching for names but have narrowed it down (sort of) to either "Oz" or "Lippy."”

“New Baby....she was rescued less than 24 hours before the BIG SLEEP.

Damn near took an act of congress to get her but she is safe, clean and snoozing on a bed today. Gonna get Vet check tomorrow....




LOL she is still in shock but learning that she can relax and wander the house, the yard. She will get two weeks at Club Farm and then move to a new house....unless she has heartworm, then she gets a month or more to relax.

“mapes...she was in a SMALL town shelter and they had one "employee" who was trying to be difficult....LOL amazing what a call to someone in power can do. The employee darn near wet herself when we showed up.

I spent less than 15 minutes in the county...broke the speed barrier getting out.

Now we are working on evaluating her for a new adoption home.”

“Looking good for the Vet visit...waiting on the full results of the blood work.

No babies (heartworms) in the blood, looks like she will be doing fine.”
