(LOL) mapes it was like the funniest line in a courtroom I ever heard. A woman had suffered a bad back injury. As a result she had to sleep in a special bed and even the presence of the family poodle hurt her meaning even her kids couldn't climb into bed at night. In court the attorney, attempting to establish damage asks," And how bad has the injury effected you?" The woman answers," Since the injury I have not been able to sleep with my husband or ANYONE." (meaning the kids, dog etc...) It was cool...we got a recess while the judge restored order. last edited: 5/25/07 1:41:23 PM” 1:37:37 PM 5/25/07 “no acronym matches for FAVE fave –noun, adjective Slang. favorite. Hmm, now I know. (2) Two weekends ago climbing the Northwest Gully of Flattop Mtn in Rocky Mtn NP with my son (15) following me up the slope on his first couloir climb - reaching the summit and turning around to watch him take the last 6 or so steps to reach the top of the 55 degree slope. Awesome!” 2:10:43 PM 5/25/07 “You forgot...flipping off the driver in the black Jeep in front of you in Ithaca NY.” 2:22:42 PM 5/25/07 “The famed FTMA hike in SC years ago. Went up there in the fall. It was August and hotter than the hinges of hell. I found a nice little pine grove to camp in and had camp made before dusk. I was sitting on a log in nothing but my boxers reading a book. As dusk fell I kept hearing this high pitched squeaking and from the corner of my eye I kept seeing something flitting about in the pines. I thought they were bats but as I sat and payed closer attention I found that I was in the middle of a flying squirrel get together. I sat for an hour as darkness fell watching them glide about.” 5:08:31 PM 5/25/07 a few offa the toppa my heada “summiting katahdin after a long six month hike camping at granite rapids on the colorado river in the grand canyon my first rock-climbing foray crossing into maine, the final state for northbounders on the AT seeing four black bears in one day in new jersey (although it wasnt one of my favorites at the time) last edited: 5/25/07 5:11:42 PM” 5:10:09 PM 5/25/07 “My other favorite experience was in the Quetico in Canada near Pickerel lake. We had walked a portage to a pool below some falls and had no luck with the fish. It was nearing dusk and I was watching the sun set over the river. I turned towards up river to begin walking back when I heard a splash. I turned around to see the biggest bull moose I had ever seen (at least 60" rack) swimming the river as the sun set behind him. While I couldn't get the shot on film that snap shot will forever be in bedded in my mind.” 5:12:38 PM 5/25/07 “where does spooning with birch rank?” 5:15:04 PM 5/25/07 “gettin' my ass kicked on a trail. besides that it really depends, my one and so far only west coast hike in the Sierra Mountains was my favorite scenic trip so far. Whitney, as we finished the JMT and spent the night on top of Whitney my daughter telling me that I was right about backpacking after all, and after 10 years joining us on a family backpack. my two daughters believing my story that I have placed 2 cans of pop in every lake in the Washington Cascades, so every time we hike ANYWHERE, we could have cold pop at the lake. Every lake we hiked to we did find cold pop, but I carried them up with us and secretly stashed them.” 1:08:14 PM 5/26/07 “Encountering a griz in an Idaho range where they supposedly no longer romp. Watching a thunderstorm silently pass a thousand miles offshore as I lie in my tent among the dunes of Cumberland Island. Falling asleep in the makeshift shelter of a tiny grotto of the Black Hills as a violent thunderstorm dropped two inches of hail - then being awakened by the clap of a lightening bolt as it struck a nearby tree.” 2:32:07 PM 5/26/07 “"One word crash....
