Ha! The Planning paid off!
I had proved something to myself this trip-we had everything we needed going in. My tentmate was really thankful for the cot. This guy had never camped out and I was the total sherpa!! We had a great time - The heat was a major concern at all times. I carried a 2 liter platy for the trek in from camp. They don't give you a mileage scale, We were in Camp Mustafa (#85) took a good hour to get to the stages. I am glad I have been doing alot of strenuous activities.I was also glad for having those endurolites caps with me. Helped my tent mate deal with some heat stroke on Friday. Packed up Mondays morning, and back at work today. Funny that tent mate (Erik) was a bit like hyway (in the hyper-ADD kinda way)everytime I stopped to take a picture, he'd dissapear and was always way ahead. What a blast and we are planning to do it again next year-
Talked to Azimuth every day and never got to meet him!

Hyways' imagination
No Open fires were permitted because of drought conditions. In all my years of attending camping/music events I am happy to report I made it safely to my tent every night. The only calamity for was getting disoriented the first night on my walk back from the loo - it was already dark and I couldn't spot my landmarks. I mustv've walked for over an hour throught many campsites until I followed some voices and spotted the glow stick on my tent. I needed a better marker since we were buried in deep between cars, so a camp chair went on top of my car, with the stuffed Cow doll in it and a glow stick rubber banded to a "horn". The B/W Cow was wearing a clear rain poncho too! That was a key for Sunday night because many had cleared out and the place looked different again. So alas, no bonfires, but I did see some other topless wonders at this event (mostly at night)lots of body paint too- pics to be posted on myspace sometime in the next week. I am heading to another music fest on Friday to camp in Red Boiling Springs TN throughout the weekend.

Best performances? Ziggy Marley and Police just had me non-stop dancing, Brazillian Girls and Girl Talk were two previously unheard wows for me.

Heading to The Fest Friday after work- should see you then! They are limited to 1200 attendance this year- Look for me on my bicycle in daylight.

Tuesday health report - URI or Cold?
I ended up with a raw throat and runny nose today- must have been a result from the enormous amount of dust from the walking trails over the weekend- I haven't had a cold in over two years- It got so intense by Sunday I created a "Bonnaroo Burka" consisting of a visor, head covered buff, wrap eye glasses and a sarong completely covering me. At least it's not in my lungs now. You could hear everyone in camp coughing as they went to sleep- very different from the tell-all cough of the other stuff in camp. No sunburn to report, happily. I am whoopped tonight- must go to bed sooner than usual! Ave temp daytimes was 90 and dry, evenings dipped to 50-55 degrees. Already packing for the next one- got two nights to prepare.

Correction: That would be Lez Zeppelin at Bonnaroo, not Led Zeppelin

February 6, 2008
Several media outlets — including the Associated Press, Britain’s NME and the Sun-Times — reported early this morning some very exciting news: that Led Zeppelin was finally booked for a stateside gig at the Bonnaroo Music and Arts Festival.

Problem is — it’s not happening.

The actual band booked for the festival — and trumpeted atop yesterday’s lineup press release — is Lez Zeppelin. That would be the all-female Led Zeppelin tribute band.

Rumors had been circulating for months that Led Zeppelin would make its stateside landfall at the Bonnaroo festival.

Led Zeppelin guitarist Jimmy Page said last week he was ready to take the iconic band on a world tour after burning up the stage at last month’s reunion concert in London. But he added a tour likely wouldn’t materialize before September.

Metallica and Pearl Jam are, indeed, headlining Bonnaroo, tickets for which go on sale Feb. 16 through www.bonnaroo.com.

Do we need a TT contingant in 08?
After last year, dealing with roo dust and heat, music incredible, do I want to do it again? That $$$ could go elsewhere. I live in Music City!

I prefer to spread the bucks over several festivals. NGB and I are going to the French Broad Music Festival in May.

That's what I am thinkin myself. Any event I can camp at without double/triple checkpoints is fine with me.
