Best All-Around Bar Under $150
Hey, I wanted to get some opinions on mummy bags under $150...I'm new to camping and only do short trips right now. I'm looking for a lightweight bag that is roomy enough for my squirmy sleeping and rated 0-35 degrees. Here are my narrowed down choices so far, please let me know if you have any experience/advice (All are synthetic and under 4 lbs.):

Kelty Light Year 3D (25')-$79.00
North Face Aleutian (20')-$79.00
Mountain Hardwear 2D (15')-$125.00
Mountainsmith Lynx (35')-$49.00

Welcome. There are two web sites you MUST know about (if you don't already), www.reioutlet.com and www.campmor.com. I don't know if you are familiar with REI but if there is one near you go there and drool, after you do that become a member and enjoy. There are other sites and shops but these are my favs.

Oh yea, about the bags. I'm not familiar with any of your choices (I haven't slept in them) but the Mountain Hardwear bags are more suited to med. build frames so if you squirm it will probably constrict on ya. Look at the REI Polar pod(@www.rei.com) and I own a Sierra Designs 40 winks, bought for $65 with shipping a few years ago from campmor and it sleeps great (I'm all over when I sleep). If you aren't in a hurry for the bag you can keep checking the outlet (rei outlet) and compmor and find great prices from time to time, just my $.02

I have had one of these Kelty Light Year +15 down bag for over four years.
It is a decent bag for the money.
The long is 33 inches wide and is roomy enough for my 6' 4" 220# arse.
The foot box is large enough for my big feet as well.
This bag is cut pretty roomy.
Some will say that it is TOO HEAVY but for twice the price you only save a few ounces.

Below are a couple of examples and they are available at Campmor for $150 & $160.
They also turn up on Ebay for $140 or so.

I would say that the bag I've seen/heard the most about is the Kelty. It seems like the popular choice bag in that price range.

I just got a Sierra Designs Wild Bill. It was cheap and seems to be built better than the Keltys & Slumberjacks.

I have two North Face Chrysalis +25 semi-rectangular down bags.....3#. These were bought 5.5 years ago as closeouts and used a lot by my son and me. They were about $130 at the time from a retail price of about $180 and of very decent quality as time and usage has proved.

Most of my gear has been some kind of bargain since I've had to outfit several people for frequent trips over the years.

One of my so-so bargains is a Back Side +15 down mummy that I brought on Ebay for about $115. It is not as roomy as the Kelty bags and the down shifted a bit from the chest area.

campmor is a GREAT place for deals on sleeping gear. i have NEVER paid full price for a sleeping bag with the exception of my western mountaineering bag. always look for closeouts on this stuff.
