I am saying I know what I am saying and commenting on.

I will concede that calm educated observation can sometimes predict future conditions however I was not commenting on that. My comment was directed at hysterical huckster "end time" death of the world prophesy.

I'd quibble that the hysterics are sometimes right about some things, too. But you are right the end of the world predictors are on a heck of a losing streak and will never have a chance to put together a winning streak.

A stopped watch is correct twice a day but that doesn't mean it meant to be correct at either time.

Maybe once a day if its a digital watch.

true - now a slow watch can stay wrong for many days at a time.

"Those who have rejected the Judaic/Christian faith system and not found a replacement are left with extreme uncertainty and insecurity."

Some of us need no replacement and are quite secure without one.
I for one believe in the future and plan on being here for some time to come as my kids grow older and become parents........or not.
Reproduction is not required of everyone, but remaining level-headed and sane is.

I will be doing something with leftover roast pork tonight.
Hmmmm, beans, rice, greens.........strictly tref.

marko, I am pretty sure that was prefaced by a statement that people who are afraid of the apocalypse and have rejected the Judaic/Christian faith system and not found a replacement are left with extreme uncertainty and insecurity.

I don't think he meant a blanket statement that covered all of us heathens.

Why would some one who rejected that faith system believe that there was any chance of 'the apocalypse'?  That doesn't track.

Speaking for myself, the apocalypse was one of the first things to 'go'.

because they really didn't reject the faith, just the adherence to the doctrine. And they are scared they are gonna pay

I think you are taking "replacement" and "faith system" possibly too literally. It would my respectful opinion that you have one. I am not sure I would try to categorize it.

That's what I'm talkin' about, HyWay.

The only possible "apocalypse" is one where a bunch of paranoid asswipes start chuckin' new-ku-lur weapons at each other.
Of course the rest of us get fried too.

It would be nice if all the pain-in-the-ass holier-than-thou people were suddenly called away in a "rapture".......but it ain't gonna happen people, so get to work at making the world a better place NOW!
