Lassen suggestions?

“I want a 2 night Lassen suggestion. I am a wimp so I don't want to go more than 6 miles a day. I would love a hike in to somewhere lovely to camp 2 nights with beautiful day hike possibilities from there.

Any ideas? Mt Steve - you are the King of Lassen, are you not?”

“Maybe I will, Rosey. It is silly for me to have lived so close for so long and not to have strolled to the top! But I really don't want to spend 2 nights in a campground.

Have you been there? Any suggestions?”

Lassen is great! We spent a weekend there last fall. We actually spent the night at the campground because the other sane people stayed home where it was warm at night and we had the place almost to ourselves. Nice facilities. A day hike up Lassen. A day hike to a lake and an afternoon hike to the hydrothermal areas...

Then... drive to Eugene! :-)”

“I haven't either. It's on the list but I'd liek to do a snowboard descent so I think I'll wait until next winter. I have hiked around up there but never backpacked. I just remember the skeeters being viscious!”
