Acting like y'all are surprised? Why should this be news to anyone? It was pretty obvious what was going to happen once Matt sold the joint. Statements claiming otherwise from the new "management" was just meant to placate the patrons of this site in order to keep the numbers good through the "change over".

The real interesting part will be what will happen when the eventual overhaul happens.”

“Hey TTers -- I'm really really sorry for all the trouble you're having with the site. I promise you haven't been forgotten, nor do we have plans to simply milk money from the site and let you all wonder off somewhere else.

If someone would be so kind as to compile a list of all the site functionality problems that still exist, I'd really appreciate it. We're getting a shiny new dedicated hosting environment for thebackpacker online next week and will be fixing everything we possibly can, especially photos and all the email capabilities. As far as updating your email address on the site, I've tested that several times and was able to get it to work everytime. There were times I had to refresh the page for it to show up, but it seemed to work everytime. If anyone in particular is still having trouble with that .. please send an email to info@thebackpacker.com with your username, current email address and new email address you want. Also include what browser you use, that'd be helpful as well.
