Hey kids!

Just wanted to let everyone know that Michigan is saving $75,000 by closing 20 state forest campgrounds. One of these is the Pinney Bridge campground at the halfway point of the Jordan River Trail.

This closes the only campground on the trail loop. And my understanding is that dispersed camping is discouraged along the trail.

I'm guessing a political ploy. The hue and cry should get politicians to finding money from somewhere...and quickly.

By the way RL, what form were you in before you reformed?

Yeah, NCT. It's just stupid, really. They had the campground in part to keep camping pressure off the surrounding area. So now everyone is just going to camp wherever they want. And they might save a thousand bucks total.

Nimblefoot! I think that I've unreformed now. Somewhere about 1998 or 1999 I would just read the boards. Then, I started posting in the year 2000. Now, I mostly just read the boards once again.

God help me. I've been reading this board for eight years.

That's great, reformed lurker. I hope you've learned something from all your reading.

As long as you practice LNT, camping 200ft from water sources and such, I'd don't see a problem?

Its kind of funny about LNT on state and NF lands, as they'll come through an area and clear-cut anyway?
