“I had severe knee problems a few years ago, mine were cause by a nasty skiing accident. It took a few years till I got back to something approaching normal. Your a tough lady, you'll be on the trail again soon.

“No, my kids are good, but they can't walk on water!

This was my original surgery to replace my knee, then a few surgeries because of infection, then they had to do a skin graft because of more problems, then finally in October they took out my knee.”

“Let's see, I think I had around 18 staples. I still have a 12 inch titanium plate and 8 titanium screws in my leg to hold it together...it'll probably come out in another year or two.

“dang dub, I think I got screwed! they never took the screws out of my knee...they are still in there holding my transplanted tendons in place...
In a few years, might have to get the tendons tightened again.”

I'm not into skiing, Steve....just snowshoeing! When I get my other leg "fixed" I hope to be able to walk again, but it will be a while. I'll have to legs that won't bend though, so it will be a challenge...

“I've never seen so many threads and so much traffic on TT! Lots of anger and bad feelings going around. Seems like some have forgotten why we're here.

All I want is to be able to meet other backpackers, plan trips together and share our passion for the outdoors. All the other banter and chatter is just gravy.
