That's what happens when you toss Sat-Mon trip dates at people. Not having that Fri messes us all up. Disturbs the balance of things.

Jersey must be represented, BackSlacker.

Maybe this cook off will be The Battle Of The Buckets Of Slop.

I have a five gallon steel pot in which I used to cook beer.

FYI, MarkO, the Slacker resides in Pennsyltucky now.

No worries, I'll be representing the garden state ;)

MarkO

9/24/07

Alrighty....

My permit arrived. It came for Site "C"...I called back and got it straightened out for Site "E". Tammy in the Hillsgrove office is a huge help.

Quoting from the paperwork I received:

"Beginning in 2007, all fire rings have been removed from campsites. IF CAMPFIRES ARE ALLOWED, you may build a small fire ring, but prior to leaving the campsite, the fire ring MUST be taken apart and the rocks scattered"

We're not allowed to bring our own firewood either as of July 2007 because of non-native invasive plant pests.

So leave your own WOOD at home! ;)

My site is "D", we must be neighbors.

Don't get too rowdy.
MarkO

Yep! They sent me a pretty yellow permit with extra yellow, salmon, and white papers that say stuff about rules.

Forestry folk are a wacky bunch!

WOOD t'ain't nuthin but trouble anyways.

Sure, we can make a "small" fire ring. A little smaller than last years at least ;p

Or, use Fridge's pit on wheels. It's like a Thunder Dome for logs.

All we need is a metal 5 gallon bucket, pack it full of corregated cardboard, pour in some diesel and presto, instant fireplace.

Of course the folks on the downwind side wont like it too much.

We can huddle around the booze if they won't let us play with fire.
Here's hoping for a wet October.

If memory serves me, there was group of misfits that set out on an epic but-kicker. They were thwarted by storm and slide, retreating to the warmth of camp and huddling 'round a case of brew.

Ahhh, the memories!
