Personally, I think Buddha was trying to be funny, so I don't feel the same way in this case - but "yes", there are too many people on here that air their grievances in an uncivilized manner. Often those same people label it "whining" when you say something, instead of facing what it is, speaking truth. Those same people probably act much different in person when they may have to face consequences of their words.

Strangely though, the last couple of days have been refreshingly cordial on here. It's been pretty nice.

Just playing devil's advocate, but isn't it possible to backpack without people on TT knowing about it? Could I possibly take a weekly BP trip and not ever run into other TT'ers?


BTW, despite all the hate alot of people have for Sarge, he's funny.

What a boring place this would be if everyone had the same beliefs and politics.

Once I even asked a small group, but they've never heard of trailtalk. I suspect 99% of backpackers haven't. Sometimes I wear my trailtalk shirt in case somebody recognizes it. lol”

Sure they probably posted as other users but in most cases what Buddha says would be called hate speech when his troll says it. Its only when he says it as Buddha that people defend it because he is either their friend or a because of his long history with TT.

The only reason some people say times were better back then was because if someone like Buddha spread his hate speech all of the like minded folk chimed in on the attack and the righties that were here were like uncle toms, (yessir yessir, you so funny sir) in hope that they would be accepted even though they were conservatives.

Now there are more conservatives and they don't feel like being 2nd class citizens to the TT elitest.

This is interesting. When I was (self)banned at the beginning of the year, the hate spoken on here was 3 or 4 times what it is now. Not saying it had anything to do w/ me, but go back to that time period, and you may be shocked as much as I was. I guess I determine when it's "better" differently. And No, not talking about friendly bashing, it was nasty. In fact, go back before I was even aware of trailtalk and you'll see threads just like this about other people. Nothing new to tt.

One other thing, every instance of these discussions about how 'mean' I am ... none are based on an actual instance that happened, it's just pure hate.
