Racists always seek to become the martyr. They want their beliefs to be attacked. They want to be labled. They welcome mocking and name-calling and derision. Winston Churchill said: "The truth is incontrovertible, malice may attack it, ignorance may deride it, but in the end; there it is." There's a host of similarly famous quotes about the truth always being attacked the willfully ignorant. If the racists can just get people to attack them, then it vindicates their beliefs - it reifies them - because after all, everyone knows that those who speak the truth are ridiculed. Solitary Hiker88's behavior is so banal in this respect. His posturing, his bravado, his "if I can just reach one person" - all symptomatic of shallow self-affirmed delusion. How a person can revel in something so hollow is beyond me.

Come to think of it, Christians behave similarly - hence their persecution complex. They too have the intellectual need to be attacked, lest their house of cards falls down around them from lack of self-affirmation. LOL - two birds with one stone.
