The trip has been posted. Subject to changes as I talk to Coyote. Disclamer - I will not be on this trip. I'm just posting it for Coyote. I wish I could go, but have family stuff that weekend.

you show for this one Crash and I'll carry you pack and buy the booze!

Disclaimer: this offer is ony good for Crash Bang and will only be valid for this one trip for which he would be required to fly halfway around the world, just to hike a 20 mile weekend in the always-an-adventure breathtakingly-scenic east-central Indiana.

CHIN! Dude! This is about half of the group that did this trip in January. Remember? Randal's mileage was a little disputed, and Jerbear's directions were slightly exagerated, and Coyote and I beat everyone to the causeway, and Windi and Attilla stayed on the other side of the lake? You been hitting the N2O? Is that Pink Floyd I hear?

Actually it was March and I DEF remember jerbear's "directions of death".

"Wish You Were Here" would be another good choice.......

Oh My God!!! It begins.......
I see ya been talking to Thrifty!! (Obscure reference here)
Plenty of water everywhere, got the whole lake!!! That campsite you are referring to is called camp "Sticks" as he was the first to discover it!!! (That's just the moon!!!) Might not be good water there, but the lake is just down the hill. LoL or you could camp down on the beach!!
Really though things are super dry there right now!!! If ya want easy water someplace close to the lake might be better
See ya later.

Coyote or Windi...can I get some directions to the dam where we'll meet? I have no idea where I'm going...again. I think I'll be coming from I-74...unless it would be better to come from I-70. Seems like there will be some back tracking from the I-70 way.

Hello Randall great to see you might make it.Hopefully we will get some more I have been wanting to get back over there and do the rest of trail.

If anyone needs to get ahold of me kevinlikestohike@yahoo.com.

Looks like it will be another hot one and I'm sure the lake will be hopping. But it is a good chance for some miles and to just get out.

This is an EASY turn to miss. At this point you need to cross the water and not follow what looks like the trail. If you miss it you will go a LONG way before you figure it out..........well it took ME a long time, last time......grrrrrrr

Yeah, CB sad about Phillip Galls. J&H has a good selection of backpacking gear. The cool thing about both of them was that they each carried brands the other didn't. So between the two I could find just about anything I needed.

I don't know of any other outfitters but I'm not very familiar with the stretch between Lex & Cincy. There are a couple in Louisville but I've never been to them.

With two, Lexington has always had what I needed! :(

Dude, I don't know how you made it this long! I'd be climbing the phuking walls by now. We didn't tell her anything bad about you, um, I don't think... Ok well, I was drinkin again, and I think I was kinda runnin off at the mouth, like I usually do, but I distinctly remember saying that you were missed and I thoroughly enjoy hiking with you. (It is a bit of a blur though because Stomper wouldn't help me drink my bourbon, I don't blame Mariposa though since it was her first trip)

I may try to do this with a slightly modified plan. I may park on the causeway, and hike in Saturday night then get up and finish the whole durn thing on Sunday then drive home. We'll see though. That would be the biggest day I have done so far.
meangreen

Ok, I take it back. Meangreen is proof that bourbon does not bring one back to their senses. LOL.

Basically day hike the thing and then drive back home? Yikes...honestly, it's the drive back that kills me. I don't know how much gum I chewed, snacks I ate, and phone calls I made in an effort to stay awake after the Morgan-Monroe trip.

And BTW, thanks for being fellow nuts!! :) As for trips, I'm signed up for 4 'tween now and mid-Oct but I'm considering 2 more! I think I need to spend *some* time at home.

DAMN GIRL! 6 trips in 8 weeks?! Now that is seriously gettin some trail!

Dayhiking this would be WAY bigger than the Low Gap. It is about double the mileage. If I don't finish up till late in the evening, I may just find a secluded place to throw the tent up and crash out till dawn.

You know I usually don't push nearly this hard, but I'm trying to toughen up a little for the KT, and ultimately Colorado in a year. I would like to take a slow scenic trip in November with lots of time to explore side trails etc to kinda bring me back to center so to speak.

J/K guys...Ya know I'll drink bourbon with you two any day!

BTW-MG When are you leaving to go to Adena? I'm thinkin about comin down for this...but I prolly won't be able to leave till Sat morning so doing the whole thing on Sun and then driving home on Mon sounds like a plan!

LOL!

Um, ya. There are some seriously loud ass boats on that lake and I'm sure they will all be runnin like raped apes this weekend. probably gonna sound like an NHRA event instead of a backpacking trip.

UP I'm not leaving Indy till 8:00pm so I wont get to the causeway till prolly 1000. You are welcome to ride along though if you want. It would be nice to have someone to help me spot the trail in the dark. I'm still not totally positive I'm going though. I need to see just what my babysitter situation is.
