I made the best freakin peppers last night. WOW! They were simular to poppers but not deep fried. Slice jalapeno's lengthwise, and clean out, then fill w cream cheese, and wrap with bacon. Now bake them on a broiler pan at 450 until the bacon is nice and crisp. Way better than breaded poppers! (if you don't like as much heat, try bannana peppers instead. They are great too!)

To go with it We mixed about half and half pineapple rum, and orange juice. Tasty!

Have some coctail shrimp to go along with it all just for good measure.

Man that was good. A friend and I sat up chowing and drinking last night. I gotta warn ya, those peppers go so good with the rum that you may run out before you realize you are even getting started.
Just thought i would share the recipe with everyone... Enjoy!

yum. I wonder how those would work if you wrapped them in foil and cooked them over a campfire?

I've been thinking about that. If you froze them then did it hobo style on the first night. That could be some tasty stuff. Especially for camp. Not sure about the bacon grease though. Could cause problems, you know, open flames and all that.

Can bears really smell bacon frying twenty miles away?    ; - )

Damn that sounds good Meangreen. I love jalapeños with a passion. I tried making poppers at home with disastrous results. I'll give this a try for sure. So after eating poppers and drinking with your buddy all night I have to ask, how's the ass feel the next day? From the poppers I mean. LOL!

OK, here's one of my favorite recipes. Bang Bang Shrimp:

1 Cup "real" mayo (8oz)
3 Tbs Huy Fong Chili Garlic Sauce
1 Tbs Thai Sweet Chili Sauce
1 1/2 tsp Lemon Juice

Clean & de-vein 1 to 1 1/2 lbs of shrimp. Soak in buttermilk (in the fridge) for 30-45 minutes.

Dredge shrimp in seasoned flour (I use cayenne, garlic, and onion powders, but not too much) and deep fry for 2 minutes at 350 degrees in good, clean peanut oil.

Remove the shrimp and drain on paper towels. Add to above sauce mix while still warm and toss to coat.

You can find the chili sauces at Wallmart in the ethnic section.

The poppers sound good! It is hard to get fresh shrimp around here.

Nigal I eat that sauce on just about everything. A friend turned me on to it a couple months ago and I'm already gonna have to get a new bottle and you know one bottle goes a long way.

Nigal I eat that sauce on just about everything.

I thought it'd be good on a breaded chicken breast. What else do you eat it on?

My wife went out of town and left me to my own devices. I started off with baby back ribs cooked low and slow on the grill with creamy macaroni salad on the side and a six pack of tall boys. Now I'm having an night cap of some fine, fine Michael Collins Irish Whiskey.

Add into the mix copious amounts of Playstation 2 and TT and it's the perfect married man's holiday!

LOL!!! @ Nigal. The ass is just fine dude. Especially considering my drinking partner was also my best friend and nanny, and is usually refered to as SHE. LOL! Actually the peppers came from a co-workers garden and weren't too hot to begin with but after baking they had nearly no heat at all. (which is probably why we wiped out 18 of them in a matter of minutes.)
Nigal those shrimp sound awesome, but what does the buttermilk do?
