“I'd like to come on this trip, but I'm not even going to put myself down as a maybe at this point. I am hiking the weekend before that, and I might have problems with the wife if I try to go 2 weekends in a row with all of the stuff we need to do around our house.

I will try a new trick I recently picked up. I'm going to plant a seed and make her think it was her idea not to do the yardwork we've been putting off that weekend. Something along the lines of "my brother the landscaper said not to plant grass until the end of Sept., beginning of Oct., but I think we should do it now anyway." Then maybe she will tell me that the landscaper knows best and we should just wait. I will put up a wimpy fight and eventually agree to put it off.”

To say I am touched would be an understatement. I do need to tell you all ( especially Thrifty) that I did NOT win the lottery in Richmond. I was close, but not a winner. Now, knowing Thrifty this won't change his feeling about me, BUT, given what happened to Notre Dame this weekend, I feel the need to throw a little love toward Hiknmachine. Man does he need it! Again, I'm sorry I did not win. But I feel like a winner, just knowing you all like me so much! Do have a great hike.”
