Been on a few kayaking trips recently... some of which I posted TRs on my webpage for and some which I just never got around to doing... but here's the link:

http://www.freewebs.com/scorchfire/tripreportsandphotos.htm

The pictures link is under the TRs. Just scroll down to the bottom of the page for the most recent TR (last weekend with lumberzac and my friend Kaiti on the NE PA DE River).

Monkeyboy, Skeetahbait and I met up this past weekend for our 5th annual float down the Androscoggin.

We saw eagles, osprey, jumping fish, and swimming squirrels. The river tried to steal my kayak and dumped me out of it.

Bailey Island
Two weeks ago spent a week at Bailey Island Maine.

Circumnavigated twice. Went out to Haskell, Mark and Monument Islands twice.

Each paddle +/- 2 hours.

Weather was perfect. Seas calm.

Lee, is the little seafood shack near the bridge onto Orr Island still there?

Lumber
I am thinking of two seafood places of many.

Right at the head of the cribstone bridge (if that is the bridge you mean) there is a Kayak rental place, next door to which is a sandwich/chowder/lobster roll place.

A qucik right hand turn just over the bridge (onto Bailey Island) and down a road about .4 miles is Cook's Lobster House. It looks back at the cribstone bridge and you can see it from the bridge.

The heck with paddling. My food count for the week.

4 lobsters, 1 fried oyster plate, 1 1/2 crab rolls, 2 lobster rolls, 2 cups clam chowder, 1 cup lobster stew, 1 plate sauteed mussels, steamers

This was a little shack in the woods. It was more of a fish fry type place and you at outside on picnic tables. My memory is a little fuzzy to it's actual location (it's been at least 10 years since I was there). I remember stopping there a few times on the way to or from Freeport.

I did eat lobster at a place on the wharf at Mackerel Cove too.

Our cottage is about 10 minutes from Bailey's/Orr's on Great Island. :)

Zac - there's a place on the way out to Bailey's Island that sounds like what you are describing but it's near the Gurnett bridge, but not the cribstone.

Or Fat Pat's - that place was definitely a shack!

You want fresh lobster, swing by our place. ;) Guy next door is a lobsterman. Catches them, hangs them in a bin off the dock and when we're ready, we go get them. Yumminess.

Could be. I only went to Orrs & Bailey's once. Growing up my family used to got to Hermit Island across the bay near Small Point. That place was great. They'd deliver fresh lobster to your campsite.
