“As a note, I sent out some trip invites to a geocaching event prolly 3 weeks to a month ago for a public trip coming up next weekend. (Wildcats Roar in WI, or something like that)

Someone got one who wasn't invited. Not a big deal, since it's an open event... and I just sent invites to people around my vicinity, to make sure they at least knew of the event, in case they missed the thread.

And someone on the upper Atlantic Coast got one. He was prolly wondering, "WTF," as was I, when I got a polite "could not attend" from him.

The server is sending emails, which it wasn't there for a bit ... for some reason some email providers are rejecting ...”

“Ok, so one of the problems with the trip invites is that the email that goes out uses your (the user) email address in the From location. In an attempt to stop SPAM ... many email providers check things like SPF records to verify that email coming from the IP (our server) is authorized for your account. Since our server IP isn't authorized for any of your email addresses, many emails will be rejected. I was able to setup a fake trip and send out invites to a gmail address, my company address, but one I sent to my yahoo address never showed up.
