LOL yeah i am glad that all of the privys have good ventilation. Note to self get up and do what I got to do before Fridge.

So all my meals are ready. Food weight before I start adding junk and extras 9.35lbs not bad for 8 days 3 meals a day.
This plus my baseweight of gear at 17.25lbs equals 26.60 add to that 2 liters of water 4.4lbs 31lbs on the nose!!!
I'll be lossing at least one pound a day as the food goes down, I should be flying along the trail after the Chairback range...

Y2 how where the leaves? They are starting to change around here. I am thinking peak might be in a week or so.

Nowhere near yet - you should hit them approaching peak I'd say.

There's one or two trees that are obviously struggling and their leaves have turned early, but otherwise its a sea of green at the moment.

This is a great site for it:

And this is the end of September last year.

If you go back through last year in the archives you'll get a good idea of where you'll be when.

Man these dehydrated meals look really small! I hope they are going to fill me up.

Dried food always looks small, but bounces right back when you add water. I dried 3 trays of parsley Friday and it barely filled one small bottle in dried form.

Rich it was actually Spruce tea... saw that episode. I don't know how he keeps staving and dehydrating himself on a regular basis, that can't be good for his health.

I am rehydrating on of my spagetti dinners right now to give it a test. 2 Cups of boiling water add the pasta and sauce then slip it into the cozy to rehydrate.

I'll let you know.

Dehydrating himself is probably not good, but going hungry and fasting has been going on as long as people have existed. I read an article once about how some hunting and gathering races of people are genetically prone to gain weight when they have access to unlimited food because in past times they didn't have it so their bodies adjusted for that. I don't know how true it is, but it does make sense.
I dried some hummus last Friday and it looks good, but I didn't try it yet.

I think I might be descended from that race. I see food I eat food I gain weight!

The spagetti is very good tastes just like the night I made it. The only bad thing is now I have to dehydrate another portion of it.
