anywhere there are rocks there is always the potential of it being "fall"

Oh we got rocks.

It's close enough to fall to count. Gonna come hike? We likes the boys on rocks. ;)

We require that all TT men wear kilts and hike uphill in front of us girls whenever possible. Otherwise, well....you don't want to know. :)

Jersey just remember if she offers you a drink don't drink it. I have heard storys from other TTer's about not being able to remember large parts of their evenings.

I'm not saying she'll drug you just be careful.

I'd take a drink offered from spindlette before taking one from Hyway though, but that's not saying much. ;-)

And if she wants to take you snipe hunting at night time, don't go dang it!

Not that I've ever hiked with her...just heard stuff through the grapevine. :)

Seriously, Chris, the mom (and backpacker) in me is very happy you've decided to reconsider your plans. If you indeed go south, let me know. I will bring you some trail magic once you hit Shenandoah National Park.

Let's just say that her beverages were the talk of certain northbound thru hikers earlier this year. No idea what happened to them after they left camp but we did hear stories.

You know, snipe hunting. You need your empty food bag, a moonless night, a patch of forest in which the snipe hide...

Find 'em, catch and bag 'em.

Great fun!

A good decision dude. I've not personally hiked with spindle, or Rev, but would any day of the week, given the opportunity. Just don't push yourself till you actually break, ok? It does you no good to find exactly where your limits are if you have to get out via helicopter and/or bodybag. If you decide not to do the big hike, my invitation still stands, for coming with us next month. The big thing is that it needs to be fun or you wont do it again.

um... spindlette... I'm 27 does that put me in the "icky" category too? ;-)

according to wikipedia the hunters who had the most success bringing the wily birds to market in the 1800's were called "snipers" because they are so hard to shoot.

s'ok meangreen, there's females in your age bracket out there, I'm sure.

Rev's so married it's scary, so that rules him out. His wifes sooo nice...and would probably kill us all if we tried anyway. ;)

Yeah I agree the alky stove and axe appear to be a bit clueless. But a shovel is a standard part of any Dig/Squat/Bury kit, depending of course on the size of the shovel.

Nota Bene: The jab at the alky stove is solely the opinion of the writer and in no way should be interpreted as a statement of general application pertaining to all posters on this forum. Any offense taken by any pro alky stove user is strictly the reaction of the offended person and should be regarded as such.
