Just curious. I`m a Psych.Nurse have been for the past 19 yrs. It`s starting to wear on me though.I work on a dual diagnosis ward, dealing with disruptive behaviours.

I also have a wild life management and park conservation diploma.I`m beginning to wish I`d utilized it a long time ago.......(it`s only 08:15 and my work place is already crazy with people yelling and screaming....gonna be a long day)

Paddles...I envy you! 1) you have an awesome degree USE IT! 2) you currently have a job where people need you. You are blessed both places. Importantly though...you have to be happy.

I have a job...I've never had a career. There is a difference. I still don't know what I want to do! LOL

Enjoy your crazy day!!!

Okay so I am guessing TASER belts still aren't allowed in Mental Health settings?

Thats tough Paddles, I get the occasional person missing a dot or two off their dice, but MAN all day? When I was finishing my original degree we had to work a few days in a "psych ward" for observation purposes. And I deal with alchohol and drug addictions (recovery) in a volunteer status.

I guess the big thing is look for small victories. In my line of work I usually see a line of people who have decided to skate through life. They see responsibility as something involving the Mommy Government giving them FREE MONEY, because of some real or imagined slight generations ago. To keep a sense of humor and maintain a positive outlook I look for the small victories. The mother who GETS off Crack, whose daughter WAS an accessory to an arson (granted she was 12 and being stupid). Then 5 years later the mom is working in a productive job, the daughter is getting good grades in school...those are the victories.

I have a BS in General Agricultural Science and a Juris Doctor Degree. After 11 years of defending some of the most wretched people on the planet, the thought of being an Entomologist had a lot of appeal to it.

Figuring out how to kill cockroaches is a lot less stressful than representing the leader of a really bad ass gang.

Something like that LZ, but I don't worry about the associates of the insect cockroaches coming to my house and burning it down with me in it because they get pissed off.
