It seems like all the people with personalities are being picked off. All that are left are the people who don't say anything. Not that I wouldn't have wanted to vote off all the people who have been voted off but they have been the most fun to watch.

Ditto to what everyone says about Cortney wasting away. Painful to watch. ET had a segment on her right before the show and they showed pictures of her before to demonstrate how much weight she has lost and she didn't look a whole lot better before.”

“The decision to vote off Dave was probably a good one. Yes, he did lots of work in camp, but he was also a condescending arsehole who irritated everyone. The whole "I am smart, you are dumb, do as I say" attitude had to go. By voting him off, they got peace in camp and they got to keep Sheree around for her strength for the challenges. But she sure is lazy around camp.”

“Last night once again proves the old Survivor rule: DON'T BE A LEADER!!!

Basically, if you decide to try to lead your tribe, you're going to have to deal with some people who are just plain lazy. No one seems to be able to say, "OK, I was supposed to be the leader, but you all don't want to be led, so let someone else do it - I quit." Instead, these "leaders" end up getting more and more annoying.

Memo to potential Survivor players: If someone nominates you to be the tribe's leader, DECLINE!”

“This program disproves Darwin's theory.
"survival of the fittest" does not apply in a group dynamic. To survive you must blend with the group.

This is a different group dynamic from wolves, because they have a leader and each individual within the group has a hierarchal place withing the group, here is democracy at its worst, no one can stand out from the group. The nail that sticks up gets hammered down.

I hope this is a product of careful selection by the producers, rather than a reflection of America today, it is the lazy and unfit who survive because they make up the majority of these groups.

“The "leaders" that emerge on the show are not really leaders at all. They are more like managers. A good leader will motivate others to get the job done. The so-called leaders on Survivor want to manage everyone. People don't like to be managed, so they end up getting kicked off.

Does anyone remember the guy with the wild hair and beard from the pirate survivor. He looked like Haggard out of Harry Potter. Crap, I cannot remember his name. Well, anyway, he was a true leader. He didn't tell everyone what to do, but he was able to rally the tribe and motivate the members.

“Anybody watch last night? Kind of ho-hum show. The strategy of the two girls who threw the challenge may or may not pay off, depending on when and if they merge the two tribes.

James is a really strong athlete, but we will find out next week if he is a smart strategic player.

Amanda might win. We haven't seen much of the guy with the glasses. What's his deal. He is pretty much flying under the radar.

“Amanda was evidently more sly than I really thought. I hadn't realized she had backstabbed as much as she had...I was surprised she did that to Denise though. she sat right there and said she would not vote for her that last night, then she did.
I think its great they gave Denise that money, sucks she lost her job...seems like a law suit could come out of that...”

“I didn't watch the reunion show. I got bored and went to bed. So Denise got $50K? Was that for most favorite player? James was my fav. What about the Sprint 100K? Anybody know who got that?”

“Denise lost her job in the cafeteria because all the kids wanted to say hi to her every day. 100 some odd kids all saying "hi Denise" as they go thru the line, evidently backed up the lunch line. So they made her a janitor and she works after school and is missing her family time and so on..”

I'm glad James got the $100,00 but did feel Denise got shafted by her job...I think that was a class move by Burnett...however, I found this letter, supposedly from the school district where she works which claimed she lied about losing her postition:

On the "Survivor China" television program that aired on December 16, 2007, Mrs. Denise Martin, an employee of the Douglas Public Schools, stated that she was demoted from her position as a cafeteria worker upon her return from taping the show. This statement is false. In fact, Mrs. Martin held a full-time position as a custodian prior to her participation in the series, and she returned to this same position upon her return from China. Mrs. Martin was granted - at her request - an unpaid leave of absence so that she could participate in the "Survivor" program. We were pleased and excited to support Denise, and have enthusiastically cheered her on throughout the duration of the show.

Although Mrs. Martin was a cafeteria employee prior to her selection as a contestant, she asked to be considered for a promotion to full-time custodian, and was promoted to this position on March 30, 2007. This promotion came with additional benefits and a higher salary. Following her leave, she then returned to this same position.

Regretfully, the Douglas Public School District was inaccurately portrayed as failing to be accommodating to an employee during what the District viewed as a "once-in-a-lifetime" opportunity. This is far from the case. On the contrary, we granted all requests made by Mrs. Martin so that she could participate in the "Survivor" series. Since Mrs. Martin was on an approved leave, her position was held open for her, and she returned to this same position upon her return from China. As a District, we make every effort to support our employees, and will continue to do so.

“I liked Denise but she was such a wimp. Just about everyone watching the game knew she would always be #4 of that particular aliance. She was hanging her hat on winning ammunity in the last challenge to get her into the final 3 when she had hardly won anything on her own the whole game.

A couple of thoughts on the game this time, What happened to the car? I liked that challenge because it had nothing to do with the game. On the same note, What's with all the food rewards? It seems that every week the winner and friends were pigging out on food. I heard that after Africa they realized that they had to feed the people more because they couldn't do anything while they were starving so they just sat around.

And speaking of starving - I hardly recognized Courtney. She must have weighed all of 95 pounds!!”
