Let's put this in a form marko might understand:

Buddhists believe that saying the mantra (prayer), Om Mani Padme Hum, invokes the powerful benevolent attention and blessings of Chenrezig, the embodiment of compassion.

So if a Buddhist was hiking with us and started saying the mantra and someone said "Do you really want to belt out that sort of thing around people who don't want to hear it?”, it would be very rude.

Not allowing a Christian to speak would be equally as rude. It's the same thing.

Wasn't it Paul who said something like "I became all things to all people so that I reach them with the love of Christ." Perhaps it _is_ incumbent upon us to level the playing field without sacrificing any of our own convictions.

Paul was talking about making cultural concessions, not spiritual. Proclaiming love for God is not a cultural conviction.”

What I said was.... perhaps we need to be less worried about whether we are tolerated. And be more concerned about letting people speak their beliefs in freedom. And that includes us being able to speak in freedom.
