Spent 5 days in Shenandoah this past weekend, had a great time. Hiked Cedar Run, Dark Hollow Falls, Lewis Spring Falls, Bearpen Mtn, Whiteoak Canyon, Hawksbill, and Old Rag.

Beautiful park with many great views, the falls were nice, but were low. The wildlife were incredible, saw three bears, countless deer, wild turkeys, a hawk even made a kill right in front of me. Huge bucks would wander through our campground. Old Rag was particularly impressive with the awesome views and rock scrambling. I'm glad I finally got down there.

I am looking forward to getting up there. It looks like a spring trip for me.

You're making me homesick jmitch! Nice pictures. The falls sure are low. I've never seen them that low. White Oak Canyon is probably my favorite waterfall hike of all.

CD,

Whiteoak was very nice. I also enjoyed the Rose River Loop. If you like waterfall hikes, you'll love Ricketts Glen State Park.

Yea, the Rose River loop is a good one too. Ricketts Glen State Park looks great. I'll add it to the wish list.

Here's how White Oak Canyon looked a few years ago:

Awesome
Shenandoah is one of my favorite nearby places. The trails are in good condition and well marked. I think I've done almost 100 miles down there, and still plenty left to see. Lots of bears, saw a mom and cub on my first trip!
Great pics, I told my daughter we would try to get down there before Thanksgiving. For something different, try it late fall/early spring before the leaves come out.

5 days, huh? Lucky you!
Looks like you had a lot of fun.

I can't wait to check out Old Rag.
