Walt and Meirsheimer Book Published

The cognesenti have been following this internet story for about a year now. The New York Times and the rest of the MSM wish it would go away. But it hasn't and won't. IMO a corner has been turned. Sadly we have to thank the hubris nature of the zionist neo-cons inside the Cheney administration. They conned and shilled manboy George and the MSM into backing the war with Iraq. Not that George or the MSM needed much prodding. They just needed some blue suits from the think tanks to fudge the statistics.

In the Walt and Meirsheimer book the question asked is why does the Israeli lobby has so much power in the U.S? The quick answer is they have so much money. Did you know that 40 percent of all Democratic Party campaign contributions come from jewish and/or zionist donors? That is a lot of money from a group of people who only make up approximately 2 percent of the US population. The percentage of money given by this segment of the population to the Republican Party is less but it's still substantial.

These large sums of money are corrupting the political dialog on US Israeli/Middle East foreign policy. Walt and Meirsheimer document this in their book.

Now that ancient history has given way the present, things are getting down in the engine room of two hundred+ year old demograssy. Whos' turn is it to start the mower?

Israel Foreign Policy is US Foreign Policy

There is one paragraph in this article that needs a clarification. It is.

Gelb concedes "It's true" the Lobby "has made America's longstanding $3 billion annual aid program to Israel untouchable and indiscussible" but notes the U.S. is also giving $2 billion a year to Egypt. He also points out for several decades every occupant of the White House "has sold Saudi Arabia and other Arab states first-rate modern weapons, against the all-out opposition of Israel and the lobby."

Gelb makes it sound like the Unites States is being even handed in the case of Egyptian aid or arms sales but this is not exactly true. Without aid to Egypt that country would be ruled by the Islamic Brotherhood at this very moment. Giving aid to Mubarek is the only thing keeping him in power and the Israeli/Egyptian peace treaty in place. This is favor to Mubarek and the Israelis, not the Egyptian people on the street. The same thing goes for arms sales to Saudia Arabia. The House of Saud will be overthrown when the Americans cannot or will not support this non-democratic regime. The radicals when then rule SA. This again is a favor to Israel and the ruling elite.
