TOWNDAWG LOST

“Fridge just called and said that Town Dawg is lost on Break Neck Ridge in the Smokies. They were bushwacking and got seperated. Town Dawg doesn't have a map or compass. There are bear and wild boar everywhere. Hopefully he'll make it back or meet up later with Fridge.

That's the latest from Fridge on Break Neck Ridge.”

“Nope.No Hoax.........Fridge just called me to give me this information. Fridge dropped his map a way back and went to backtrack. He finds the map and heads back to Towndoggy and he is no where to be seen. So Fridge continues to head down to the area near a creek where they had agreed earlier to possibly camp. NO TOWNDOGGY. Fridge is carrying a Satellite phone wanting to test it out before he goes to Alaska next year. He also has a bear fence he is going to set up. Fridge told me if Town Dawg does not make it tonight where he is, he will backtrack back up to Campsite 44, maybe TownDawg is there. If not he is headed to the Truck. This is the 3rd time in a row backpacking with TownDoggy they get lost.
Fridge said they both have plenty of food and should be no problem in finding there way out. Fridge does have his compass and maps.

If I here anything I will let you know.”

Maybe Towndog thinks the Fridge is lost!

“I just looked up bear fence thinking it would be something heavy, but what an awesome product that is. Of course, at $300 it isn't cheap but its better than being scared witless all night long in bear country.

I hope this all turns out well. (I also hope that this isn't a hoax because it wouldn't be very funny)

“Sorry to hear about TD but I have faith in him as a backpacker that he will make it out if he is lost.

The bears in Alaska I hear are quite different than the ones down in the lower 48, they recommend bear spray, a gun, and/or a bear fence when camping there.”

He lives in Townsend (Just north of Cades Cove) and might be able to help track TD down!!! He knows the GSMNP as well as anyone. Ain't Smokygirl down that away as well?? She's a ground pounder and has done all the trails there as well!! Man I hope everything comes out well. C'mon TD were all rooting for ya buddy!!
