The Quitico is nice but it's a pain for me to get to. I either have to drive 3 extra hours (after 17 hours driving) to go in through Atikokin or go in through the BWCA which makes it hard to get to the good places within my time constraints. And now with border crossings being harder and the fact they have made the Q live bait free and all barbless hooks I'm less apt to go there.

I love Algonquin personally,but you have to get away from the main corridor hwy#60 where all the main campgrounds are.It`s beautiful there,a lot of day trails,but crowded in the summer.

There are three bp trails all spectular,but again heavily used.You need to get at least four hours out on the trail,before it begins to thin out of people.

The best times are May,August to October for bping.The mosquitos and deerflies will drive you mad in June and July.

There is some good fishing in Algonquin,but I believe that it is also live bait free,they`ve had trouble in the past.

Some of rules and regulations which apply to anglers include: (Refer to the "Recreation Fishing Regulations Summary" for more details and information)

Most Canadian residents need a licence to fish in Ontario (if at least 18 years of age but not 65).
All non-residents (age 18 years and older) require a licence to fish in Ontario.
Licence holders must carry their licence at all times when angling and show it upon request to an officer.
Fish should be packaged individually in clear plastic. A large patch of skin should be left on all fish fillets for identification purposes.
Possession or use of live baitfish or live or dead Lake Herring are prohibited in Algonquin Park. Crayfish are classified as baitfish.
Fishing is prohibited within 100 metres of any dam in Algonquin Park.”

“I didn't go to a beer store but I did love the fries with brown gravy. LOL! I think we did put in at Nym. We were in the Pickerel Lake area . Don't have a map in front of me here.”
