“We could alter the plans somewhat to cover more ground and for those that have been on this trip before we could see some new places.If we go down Conley Cove and basecamp at the intersection with the Linville Gorge Trail there would be several options for dayhikes.There is a bridge that crosses the river now and that would open up even more options...like a trip up to Table Rock.You guys let me know what you want and we'll go from there.”

It's the most photographed area on the A.T. supposedly (I find this hard to beleive after having been in NH/Maine area), but its lovely nonetheless. The Southwestern part of Virginia is the part to see, but then I'm biased. LOL.”

“on second thought, don't go to McAfee's. You need to see Dragon's Tooth instead. It's a short 3 mile round trip leg stretch--on the last section you get to climb over some bolders.”

“Sunday we will be out before 11:00 am so that we might get to Louises Rockhouse before they close breakfast.It's on the National register of historic places and the building itself sits on three counties.”

“Dynamonkey and I just got back from hiking at Linville Gorge. We hiked from Tablerock over to Shortoff and back and it was absolutly gorgeous.Now our arses are dragging.”

“I hear ya Spam. Actually, it's hard for me to make concrete plans too far in advance (or it was). With my new job, things are more predicatable and I think I will be in great shape between January and April every year.”
