“The offical temp.on TV was 18F, used a 0.5" blue pad, Granddad's USMC bag and sleeped in fleece long johns and coat. Was toasty warm until about 4:30 when my feet and backside were alitte chilly but not too bad, had to wiz but I was not gettin out. Wife came out at 6:00 and I jumped back in the bed for a nap before work. Learning experience and glad I did it, really only issue was my nose was getting cold so I may investigate some type of other mask with my tobaggin. If it gets below 18F next week I may bring a second 0.5" pad.”

I hiked around the falls from 10 to 1 then had the go to Morganton.my cell is 3304653741 names Shannon anyone can call if your in the area I hiked down to the river from the house.I went down the east side by the parkway and as I was walkin I heard yelling and hollaring and I could smell a camp fire.I didn't see anyone.I then hiked up to erwins view and heard the yelling again it was coming from where I just was below the falls.there was to men and the one was so wasted they were camping and they both had rods in the water and the wasted guy fell down a few times and was hangin on his buddy I watched awhile hopin he would fall in but never did.was a nice little show from erwins.I'm glad we didn't meet when I was only 50 yrds from them they were just around the corner.I don't like drunk dudes that hang on ya.now a drunk lady is ok if she hott and doesn't smoke cigs”

“I suspect it will be closer to 70ish within 10 ft of the fire. Or maybe not there. In an established campground or a huge group event fires that can be seen from the space shuttle are appropriate, but perhaps not at teh top of the gorge.
