OK here's the deal, I need someone to help with the shuttle, and water drops for my Knobstone trail thru hike on the 14th. If you are up to the challenge come hike with us, or you could just drive from trail head to trail head and camp with us, and laugh as we come in exhausted. For trip details see the trips page.

yup. family commitments. I understand that completely, but now mohawk and I are S O L unless one of us can get there a lot earlier than I can on Saturday to cache all the water that is needed, and set up a shuttle. It's not like each end of the trail is just a few miles apart, it's 50 freaking miles! So now it's time to step back and punt.

How about yourself Mariposa? You will be paid for your gas etc.

MG, I wish I could but I can't get off work on a Monday and Tuesday...well, not THAT Monday and Tuesday because of a meeting...plus, if I can go it would be really hard to not hike.

And the house situation isn't going well so I'm now trying to find other weekend work. Sigh.

I get off work at 3 on Saturday afternoon, then it's about 2 hours down there. That's the absolute soonest I could do it. Then we need to set up the shuttle, and cache water. That will take at the very least an hour. There would be about 5 water drops to make, then leave my car at Delaney park, and drive back to Deam Lake. If you come along on the hike, though you will need your vehicle somewhere in the middle of the trail. That brings up a whole new set of challenges doesn't it?

I still haven't heard from mohawkman if he's still in or not. So really the big thing is finding someone to help set up the shuttle. I may be all by my lonesome on this.

I appreciate the thought Mariposa. Glad to hear you had a good b-day, and sorry to hear about the house. That's a bummer. Don't give up though. Buying the right house takes patience and perseverence.

Have you check your e-mail? I think I can work it out to help out on Saturday and Sunday, but would need to head back home on Monday.

Really? Will this cause problems with your commitment? Seriously, I kinda have an ace in the hole if it's really needed, and I would rather use that than pull you away from your folks.

I can have my brothers take care of my parents needs over weekend but I will need to be available during the week. I have 4 brothers, they can help out every once in a while.
Just let me know. I'm wanting to get out that weekend anyways. lol. I would be out this weekend if I didn't have to work sometimes.

Well, If you just want to go, then I would love the help, and company too. Solo hiking isn't so bad but it gets mighty boring when the sun goes down.

No sweat Thrifty.
I am only doing 3 days/3 nights, but only plan to carry 2-3 liters of water at a time, and with these miles I'll need it all.
