“Chess is a great game. I knew the subject as a chess move instantly. Never played tournaments, never got rated. Played a few times in college with a guy who was 1300, he was marginally better than I was. Of course, he had probably played 50 games for every game I had played.

“I can't remember the last time I spoke with anyone who actually knew how to play, nevermind undersatnd the game. I learned to play as a young boy, taught by an "uncle" who also loved the game. Seems it has lost favor to things more advanced, like Wii & Nintendo and the like...
