It's really good. I don't think there is any more danger from making it than buying it, but ours stays refrigerated, and is always drank pretty fast. I don't think I would keep it around more than a week though. The cool thing about making your own is adjusting the recipe to your own tastes just like cooking. It is really easy and only takes about 10 minutes to whip up a batch once you have the ingredients ready to go. Give it a shot. MAOLA add your liquor and keep rollin. yum” 11:31:10 AM 12/22/07 “i just looked at your recipe meangreen and i am glad i did because i forgot some of the stuff you told me... cardamom... this is a REALLY neat idea. i may give this a try. i don't put nutmeg/etc in the drink i make but let people add it later. it's a fine powder so it would blend in really well. cardamom is damn expensive, but i have a bottle for use when i make sweet potatoes (mashed). it's a real treat with them. not sure about the bitters. i would try it with and without to see if it really did anything for me. i don't use the egg whites, just the yolks. the whites don't add much to the flavor (if anything) and i think they make a less rich eggnog. some people whip the egg whites with sugar and fold this back into the milk/eggs to make the nog really fluffy but i don't care for this. it's like drinking a cup of foam.” 11:32:30 AM 12/22/07
