A long time ago, and I don't even remember when, I posted an inquiry somewhere about the death of the four Axsom children who died in the same year and who are buried in a cemetary in Hoosier National Forest. Tonight I received the following email. I thought some of you might be interested in it.

"Hi,
I am a librarian at the Indiana Room, Monroe County Public Library and I noticed you had made an Internet post regarding your interest in this story.
Four Axsom children all died of Meningitis that year. It was a terrible tragedy. Their home was quite remote and was practically inaccessible- they lived in isolation and poverty. The story was told in the Bloomington Evening World on April 10, 1931.

They had another sister who died of pneumonia in 1939.

Just thought you might like to know the whole story.

Hey Ruby, can you email back and ask if she has any info on the UFO that crasshed near peeper pond?

YA! And then ask him about why my last name seems to be on nearly ALL the headstones in the spooky, and legendary haunted Stepp Cemetery in Morgan-Monroe. That was a bit unsettling considering I don't have any family in this state.

Since I cannot hike in January, how about a simple weekend in February? It will need to be one of the first weekends. Gotta check with the boss tonight...will post more tomorrow.
