Everyone make it home safely this year?” 2:20:17 PM 10/28/07 “I'm still at Masten looking for my chair.” 2:38:04 PM 10/28/07 “If it was up yer ___ you'd know where it was. We're back......... The drive home was lovely........clear day, fall colors.” 2:44:50 PM 10/28/07 “There was a trip to report on?” 3:44:06 PM 10/28/07 “What happens in Masten, stays in Masten. (not that anything happened)” 4:11:52 PM 10/28/07 The Untrip Report “Pennsy arrived to the sound of crickets and rushing water only to find that Masten was indeed a ghost town. There wasn't a TTer in sight . . .” 4:28:47 PM 10/28/07 “Rob! Thanks for the Readings! Having one right now! Just got in. Masten was the greatest. TR and pics soon.” 5:30:27 PM 10/28/07 “lyra says I need to loosen up and have more fun at these gatherings. Too much of an ole stick in the mud..” 7:43:18 PM 10/28/07 “Hars, you're welcome! hoist one in the air for everyone you knew that loved that beer.” 7:44:01 PM 10/28/07 “Lyra is right, you must cheer up.” 4:49:46 AM 10/29/07 “The trip was lots of fun and it was great to see old friends again along with some new ones. I got home about 6 PM last night and Calmwater, Roam, Spindlette and Ms. Doolittle stayed Sunday night. We went for a dayhike clockwise on the Old Loggers Path Sunday afternoon for few miles before turning around and retracing our steps back to camp. After some Saturday morning rain the weather turned out nice. Great party Saturday night, lots of laughs and another fun Masten Bonehead Encampment.” 5:03:04 AM 10/29/07 “Well that was quite the good time! I got to meet many fine folks that I'd never met before, including Buddur, nogranola, dlm, Ms Doolittle, RichB, calmwater3, sunnydayz, chocolatehead, Gem, and spindlette. Everyone was super fun and funny, and I didn't have to punch a one of them in the face...actually I feel sort of unfulfilled because I didn't get to do that on this trip, seeing as how chili wasn't there. Also, I feel there are some unanswered questions remaining... ~ Did calmwater3 survive the night, and being undressed by all those guys? ~ Why is everyone always picking on poor defenseless Pennsy? ~ Did everyone buy my faux baby bump? ~ What exactly did chocolatehead mean when he said I'm a lot more pleasant in person than on TT???” 5:52:03 AM 10/29/07 No Smackdown “I was really expectin some kind of smackdown to occur sometime during the weekend, based on comments made before the trip. Maybe everyone was on their best behavior? It was really cool meeting everyone, even though as Rob said, this wasn't a typical trip, as most trips involve pain and suffering.” 6:11:59 AM 10/29/07 “Well you just haven't been on TT long enough to know when I'm kidding. For future reference, that's 99.9999% of the time. I think a lot of people were suffering on Sunday morning! LOL :-D” 6:27:58 AM 10/29/07 TR Saturday Bushwhacking Edition “After waiting out the rain on Saturday morning, and waiting for the late sleepers to arise (you know who you are) it was agreed we would explore along Rock Run. Rich B knew where to park the cars and how to get to the remote corner of the trail, the intersection of Rock Run and Yellow Dog Run. 9 of us traveled for what seemed like a few miles before arriving at the parking spot. We followed Rich up along the run, stopping a few places along the way to admire the beautiful fall colors, and the flowing waters. The rain of the past few days had filled the creek and made for some spectacular cascades. We passed several cool campsites on the way the the rock run YDR intersection. YDR was running fast when we crossed over to admire the falls, and it was more than a little slippery with the wet leaves and algae. However, the intrepid TTer's all crossed successfully, and checked out the Run and the little cave. I suggested that we bushwhack up YDR to the "Falls". Roam led the group up the banks of the run, I knew the falls were "just around the next bend" from doing the trail earlier in the year. It was hard going, we went up and down, around fallen trees, thru swampy areas, around at least 4-5 bends, crossing the run several times. We were deep in the wilderness, and still no falls. After what seemed like a mile, there were still no falls, but we did see a small cascade. I was going to let that be the falls, but everyone wasn't giving up yet. We grabbed a drink and pressed on. After another 1/2 mile, I thought I heard some grumblin about calling this the falls and turning back. We stopped for an snack and regrouped. We discussed going deeper into the wilderness....... more later” 6:49:16 AM 10/29/07 “did pennsy pee in your water supply? it's not a trip until pennsy marks his territory!” 6:57:26 AM 10/29/07 “Some boneheads klum up an old chimney and put Pennsy's chair on top while he was out hiking. There may be pictures. My water supply was safe in my car.” 7:00:53 AM 10/29/07 “Just for the record: We did not undress Calmwater. That would have been very gay . . . not that there's anything wrong with that.” 9:13:52 AM 10/29/07 Pics!! Where's the pics?? “Hey!! C'mon with the Pics!!! If Gem was there, I know she took some shots!!! Sounds like it was fun. "Undressed by all those guys""???? Hmmmm, I dunno, but that would make a good first page anyway!! See ya later. Randall” 9:15:26 AM 10/29/07 “Well I just figured since Pennsy didn't get to undress ENS like last year, he would've wanted to at least undress someone!” 9:36:53 AM 10/29/07 “this year I decided the remain sober for the entire weekend.” 9:37:37 AM 10/29/07 “That was a wise choice.” 9:41:32 AM 10/29/07 “Me too. sadly enough, today I'm wishing I'd gotten drunk.” 9:44:24 AM 10/29/07 “It was like being with a bunch of nuns. "We'll have none of this and none of that."” 9:51:32 AM 10/29/07 “Riiiiiiiight.” 10:05:24 AM 10/29/07 “Lets give it up for Jackstraw !! 2 years in a row cook-off champ!! Nobody went home hungry (or thirsty) from this trip. Ps: my head hurts, must of been from the altitude.” 11:17:55 AM 10/29/07 “Altitude sickness..............that's the ticket.” 11:18:39 AM 10/29/07 “My edema seems to be subsiding.” 11:38:56 AM 10/29/07 “Auntie Enima?” 11:41:10 AM 10/29/07 “Well, Calmwater did indeed survive, we woke up this morning to a nice coating of frost on the leaves and grass. First of the season I was told.” 12:16:24 PM 10/29/07 “Had a great time! Lots of laughs, love seeing guys holding man-pink umbrellas under waterfalls. Would like to get a little credit for talking to my friend the sun and getting him out a little earlier than anticipated!” 12:53:26 PM 10/29/07 Hey SD “It was nice meeting you... Alright you MAY have had something to do with a dry finish to the weekend. You played some great harp too! Don't forget our matching hiking outfits too!” 1:08:04 PM 10/29/07 “You guys were rockin' the ghost town! That was the best jam camp I've been to.” 1:13:08 PM 10/29/07 “Yo Mark, you played some fine stuff yourself.. of course Tom and Stevie had to put up with us hackers (i'm speaking for myself mostly) And don't forget ENS too! I'd like him to show me those beatle songs...i couldn't quite follow them...” 1:17:11 PM 10/29/07 “Thanks man, you too. For some reason I had trouble keeping up after a while...........things were gettin' fuzzy...” 1:23:20 PM 10/29/07 Wow, did it rain! “It's a good thing Buddur had an umbrella or he might have got wet. ”1:25:23 PM 10/29/07 “Choco and Marko--I'm thinking we start a band called Buddur and the Boneheads...” 1:37:38 PM 10/29/07 “Yeah boy - TT'er Saturday nights rock. Roster of attendees? Pics? We Sipsian TTers did not talk about yous, btw - I swear.” 1:39:54 PM 10/29/07 “OK No drinking during rehearsal...” 1:40:43 PM 10/29/07 classic shot “Pennsy, that's sure a classic TTer shot That's the Mountain Hardware Raspberry trail umbrella right?” 1:59:06 PM 10/29/07 “Great name SD That kinda seperates the talant (buddur) from the Boneheads You could be on to something... we could headline the Strawberry Jam trip!” 2:02:10 PM 10/29/07 strawberry jam trip “our band could all wear red jackets and carry man-pink umbrellas.” 2:10:05 PM 10/29/07 “Sounds like a cool party trip, one of these years I will have to make it back to Masten. I thought you were all gonna day hike the OLP on Saturday what happpened to that plan?” 2:34:19 PM 10/29/07 “All who gonna hike what?” 2:50:12 PM 10/29/07 “WE hiked a bit (a very small bit) of the OLP yesterday. :) I even sampled the West Rim Trail and got ice cream at the Ansonia Gulf station, but that was on Friday. Yall all missed the best morning of the whole weekend today. By the way - we collected mucho gear that was left behind. If you guess who has what and can describe it with serial numbers you can have it back :) Thanks to Calmwater for kindly toting off the ginourmous bag of trash.” 3:22:43 PM 10/29/07 “hey, i heard a rumor that jackstraw was putting on women's makeup too - what's up with that?” 3:46:03 PM 10/29/07 “Dog gone, we'all had more fun than I realized!” 3:50:59 PM 10/29/07 “where's all the pics? you guys have been home for two whole days now! what gives?” 4:26:52 PM 10/29/07 “Some of us did have to go to work today ya know, and some of us had a little bit of celebrating to do. heh heh.
