I'm having some major surgery

“rocksee, how ya feeling? give it some time things will get better. i tried backpacking 10-12 weeks post op and i needed top wait longer. any hot flashes?”

“Night sweats got me for several nights about 9 days after surgery. I got some sample hormone packs to work with until I see the doc again. I still get tired if I am very active for a few hours. Other than that no residual pain. The hormones worked tha same day and I slept well last night for the first time in a week. Still have alot of bruising.”

“i'm still praying for you Donna. take it easy sweetheart”

“I'm a praying too, hang in there and remember to call me next time you want to get out. I need to do some recon on a soft shell. Santa says I've been pretty good this year.”

“My appetite is amazing me right now- one of my friends brought mexican food for lunch (frajitas) and I have been munchin all day. Had an urge for chocolate (rare event) and also munched on almond/chocolate kisses.
Whoohoo!”

“I am OK'd for camping this coming weekend,
have to wait another 2 weeks for bellydancing and sex. I guess I'll live :)”

“I was assured that my AFLAC insurance for short term disability would pay for my time after surgery and just found out NOT. This has put me in a bind- I have been living very frugally in the meanwhile. $2600 in med bills can be paid off in increments, however there are some monthly bills that are now getting hit with late fees. This sucks. I have a promising interview tommorrow, however the job doesn't start till after the new year.”

“Rocksee, I feel for you. I've been there! (only it was $50,000+) I'm crossing my fingers for you and this job. :)

“Yikes, ZC! The total bill was over $30K, what's left is my 20% which is more than I have. Pathology was happy to send a seperate bill to add to the pile!”

“At least I am free of pain and unexpected bleeding on trail. Had to switch my prescript to a $4.00 one instead of the $50.00 one as well. I hope I can tolerate it as well. This was day one on it.”

“The night sweats were taking the best of me, so I have had restful nights for two weeks and hope it stays that way!”

“I remember the night sweats from a small 'altercation' I had with my appendix some years ago ---- No fun!  I learned a new word that week:   'peritonitis'.     < yikes >

“I believe AFLAC is a good co if with my policy, I couldn't do ADL's. With a Hysterectomy, it doesn't count for much. Having people lift your vacuum and trash is not considered essential. If I were incontinent, could not dress or bathe independentley or transfer from my bed that's another thing they would gladly give me something for.”

“It was a great interview,the money is good, benefits great- so next is the background check and drug screen. I guess I should list everything (prescriptions, OTC) before taking it- with the surgery they had me on some pretty hefty meds. I am not concerned about the background check.”

“Ok not tender MG- they did a LAVH which saved me alot of healing time.
Tilt, I have been on TT for going on 8 years and know about the users and bruisers!
Heck I have bpacked with a bunch of them at a time! Nothing sbeats trying to get through trees down on the trail in TN and still keep your pack on.”

“Rocksee, it is good to hear about your new job and your health. I gotta break down and go to the dr. tomorrow. I have a large knot on the back of my right hand. It came up Sunday night after I had been outside for a few hours. It felt like the inside busted open, and now It is all red and still swollen. I have no idea what it could be.”

“Not likely Tilt- when the HR gal was looking at my hobbies she asked if I really slept in the woods- to which I replied YES! 8 or 9 miles in and we forage for water too!

Karo- go get that checked out ASAP- could be a burst vein.”

“I just have never tried to eat a tree, however she was quite impressed with that and my overall good qualities. Whne she asked about leadership and team building I referenced scouting and fitness training.”
