“Well, hiker99 could have been more upfront about having a vested interest in this new AT forum, but other than that I'm OK with promoting a relevant non-profit service. I don't know what TT's owners think though (at least we know they are registering newbies).

Stove - maybe you or someone here could go on that site and promote TT or the TT boycott, or the TT boycott boycott, or even the TT boycott boycott boycott.

AThiker.org is all about non-profit and donating the income after running costs to Appalachian Trail organizations. I'm not starting this site to line my pockets. I'm starting it to give people who love the trail like me a option of where to go to talk about the AT and hopefully in the process raise money to donate to AT trail organizations, something thats lacking in other online AT communities.”

It says for reporting purposes, that doesn't hold water. Considering the tax breaks and incentives of being non-profit.

Nice to hear from you again, I will jump in and give my two cents on this. WhiteBlaze is a nonprofit web site. We stopped reporting to the IRS as a nonprofit web site only because it was recommended advice from lawyers and consultants.

We do not put any of the donations form the web site into our pockets. We do not see one red cent of any of the donations coming in. All profits go right back into the web site and anything left over goes to other Appalachian Trail organizations.

Just because we switched from reporting as a nonprofit to the IRS dose not necessarily mean we are not nonprofit. You should check into what you saying before you make assumptions.

I also find it funny that you picked the name you did for your web site when www.athiker.net is our other web site that we own that we use for testing things out before they get installed on our WhiteBlaze web site. If this all intended as some kind of joke then it is a tasteless one? Then again that is your style.”

AThiker.net is not a active site, its a website test forum for whiteblaze.net so there is no infringemnt there. Also when you purchased AThiker.net there was a active website using AThiker.com Six Iron to be exact promoting his book. It was good name not being used so i used it. It would be nice if you would post monthly balances for your site, including donations, etc...
what about the thousands spent on the journal software and that 6 gig database it was going to create. What about lies about you purchasing whiteblaze from me on your about page. Man i turned it over to you for free under the stipulation that the site always be none profit.
