I returned to WV last weekend for some more exploration. I went to Otter Creek, Dolly Sods, Blackwater Falls, and Canaan Valley. Had a great time. Weather was nice Sunday, but was otherwise cloudy.

Otter Creek was nice with big boulders and cascades. Came across some raccoon hunters looking for a lost dog.

Canaan Valley was also nice, lots of semi-tame deer.

Dolly Sods was great- came across a nice view over Red Creek. Also visited Bear Rocks, but the views began to cloud over. I hope to visit in the summer.

I hope to explore even more of this beautiful area.

Nice photos!

I will be on Roaring Plains(south of Dolly Sods and higher and more remote) next Wednesday and returning Saturday.

Otter Creek is on the agenda for a few days just before Xmas.

Yup, that's the Allegheny Plateau, 4,000 to 4,770 in that area.

The weather from the west sits right on it and the lower moutains to the east are much drier.

Not windy, or cold. Hope to explore more of Dolly Sods.

The ten-day forcast is lookin' like snow showers next Wed-Thurs-Fri and the overnight temperatures will likely dip down to about 20* on the plateau.
