Cold
I have one of these but have never taken it when it was below freezing.

Any tips on making sure it does not freeze overnight? Would adding some gatorade help?

Blow the water back into the bladder out of the hose, keep the bladder insulated from the cold in your pack. Mine has never frozen though I switch to bottles when day temps are 20 or lower.

I've had a hose freeze up pretty quickly when teh temps are in the teens and lower. Below 10 the hose system becomes pretty useless.

You can usually get it to thaw pretty easy though by putting the whole thing inside your coat for a few minutes.

Bottles are better - keep them upside down though or you'll have fits getting the top unscrewed.

Just keep the bladder in your pants, and run the hose out your fly. When you are done getting a drink blow air back into the tube to get the water out of it.

Overnight I put mine in the bottom of my sleeping bag to prevent freezing.

I have a neoprene cover for the hose (part of a kit), I tuck the sipper nozzle into my coat between drinks, drain the tube of water in between drinks.

either blow the water back out, or make a cover for the hoses. Polar fleece?

bottles are easier.
